64 Nice view to beach. have few bottles of good beer, but prices too high. |
54 A big restaurant just along the beach. Belgian and German variety. That's it. Expensive too. |
66 compared to the other few bars i’ve visited, this one had a very large selection, i would guess easily 40 bottles in the printed menu. however, lots of these are very mainstream belgians and other well known (good quality) beers from all over europe. They also had a number of greek craft beers though. it’s a restaurant overlooking the ocean, service was friendly, although it seemed like it’s not totally normal for them to have guests that only are in for the beer ;-). The printed beer menu with pictures very nice and thorough, with a solid description of each beer. If you are in rethymno, i’d say this is a place not to miss. |
72 I love Crete and I love beer. So good to have beer places in Rethymno!
I wouldn’t say it the best place in the world, but for a resort beach place it’s pretty nice. The prices are a bit high (7-8 euros for 0.33), but as I said, it’s a resort place.
Enjoyed local rethymnian dark beer + had a pawel kwak. Everything was good. |
50 Cafe / restuarant along the beach road with a nice view over the beach, sea, harbour and the old fortress. 3 beers on tap, and a pretty nice list of bottled beers. 4 beers i havent, but 2 of them not avaiable when i asked for them. The 2 beers i had was served in the corresponding glassvare. Nice and attending service., fairly priced. No Craft or Septem beers. |
66 Great location on the beach promenade, a 10 minutes walk from the center of Rethymnon. Food looked great, but i just stopped by for some beers to go. Nice service, and some knowledge about the beers and breweries present. Will visit again at my next visit to Crete. |
62 About 45 beers are listed in an informative menu, 18 of them being Belgian, a few German ones, the local Rethymnian Brewery is represented by both of their Brink’s variants and, of course, many of the fizzy European industrial lagers are on the list. Three of the beers, including one Brink’s, are served from tap. They also promote four beers from the Septem Microbrewery. The place is a combination of a café, bar and restaurant. We had delicious Greek food here; a well made Stifado and a succulent Gyros Chicken. Its location is rather near the city centre on a corner overlooking the Rethymno beach promenade and easy to spot walking along the promenade. Attentive service and good value. Opens at 10.00. I do not think there are better beer destinations in Rethymno than this one. (Visited twice during a week in Crete in mid-August 2012). |
52 A certified Cretan Diet taverna that serves a range of bottled beers with proper glassware. Emphasis in selection is European and especially Belgian. They also carry two Greek microbrews. Service is friendly and flexible. The food is decent and reasonably priced considering the location along the beachfront promenade. It seems to me this place would be the best place to go to for craft beer in Rethymno. The presence of the Septem beer is a huge plus in my book and one can only wish that in the future deliveries from Santorini Brewing Company and Cretan Brewing (Xarma) would become possible. |
