54 Lots of dark brown wood, very high ceilings, flags of all the counties. Bit of a touristy vibe which is fitting since its 2 blocks from the dome. Not much beer wise. Lots of BMC or the Irish equivalent with just a couple of local crafts. The drink of choice seemed to be something called a Malibu punch bucket. Meh! |
62 Pretty good bar in Downtown St. Louis on Washington. All the standard big Irish/English taps- Guinness, Bass, Harp, Smithwick’s, Boddington, Carlsberg, and so forth. Decent bottle selection. All of it’s a bit overpriced for St. Louis, but that’s to be expected on Washington Ave. Crowded on weekends, usually with yuppie types but a good mix. Nice upstairs space if you want to get away from the crowd downstairs. Big, high-backed booths provide a little privacy for your group downstairs, though. |
72 Went there for some post dinner drinks and dessert. Enjoyed the wide selection of local crafts (Schlafly, O’fallon, and own conctracted draft) along side strong imports (Guinness, Derlium Tremens, Carlsberg). The wait staff could have been a little friendlier but the food was great. Their Dubliner Ale is contracted out and really should be replaced, maybe the recipe should be revisted. Their Guinness is the best I’ve had in town. |
