Visited on a rainy wednesdaynight. Good seating, overall good vibe. We sat inside but it was possible to sit outdoors and keep dry. The beerselection wasn't great. Some obvious from Belgium and a few dutch beers. Nice to just have a beer but no need to visit if the beerlist is your main priority.

We dropped by Tilt on Saturday 22nd September 2018, another day of sunshine and showers. Café Tilt is located close to Bierman and Bierman so If you look at a city centre map of Utrecht then with Bierman & Bierman just out of the immediate centre and located to the north east at about 1 to 2 'o' clock if you viewed it as a clock face then Tilt is a very short walk away heading pretty much on the same road into town (the road name may of changed once you cross the canal bridge though). Its situated on a corner with an outdoor seating and plenty of a seating in the main Café. It's easy to find and offers a nice more atmospheric, comfortable and traditional option for those seeking a beer and maybe bite to eat.

We have sat inside, it was a lovely place, comfy, cosy and a great Café to while away an hour or two to avoid the very heavy showers. We sat close to the bar near the middle of the Café, it looked like there was an area to the right where they might have bands on as we could see bands/acts advertised as upcoming. The landlady/barwoman was fantastic, she was on her own but she was unfazed, making toasties (for us and others) pouring drinks, serving at tables all the time with a beaming smile and chatter to her customers, it was superb customer service. The beer choice was good, ok it's not huge or even that craft led but we found new beers (for us) both on tap and in bottle. We really liked it here and as we were leaving the landlady took one look at the rain and literally gave us an umbrella from her collection, she was so kind. I would definitely recommend this place and we will definitely return here.

Visited at a Saturday afternoon. Not been inside, only on the terrace. Staff is friendly, but not knowledgeable about beer. They try to sell us a Belgian blonde as an IPA. Mostly common beers here like Viven, Vedet, Jopen. They have a terrace, that’s the advantage.

Lively place when visited on a Friday evening. Beer selectionis pretty unexciting with a couple of locals and a bunch of fairly obvious Belgians. Nice and light with windows all around and a bunch of tables with a big bar area. Decent place but not really a tickers paradise.

2014: still the typical Dutch interior. Large bar at the side. Staff is ok. The regular pils is poured in standard sized glasses, because pulling the handle gives a premeasured amount of beer. Horrible feature, but its only with the regular pils. Bottled selection is ok-ish with some local brews and a couple of hipster Vedett/Duvel etc. Regular live music. 10 years ago: Been here a couple of times. More of a bar where you can spot hockey chicks I guess, than that you go here for a decent pint. Had some food here as well, which is just the regular Dutch pub food as far as I can recall. Not bad, but not exceptional.

A relaxed, friendly and comfortable music bar. The beer selection isn’t hugely exciting but it’s a pleasant enough place. It’s on a street corner with a conservatory area at the front from where you can watch the world go by. (Visited 27 September 2012).

Visited on 27 September 2012, late night. Probably didn’t make the best impression after a few rip-roaring hours in Cafe Derat, but it was a congenial enough spot for a late drink, even if the music was a bit loud for my tatste. Woody, comfortable ambience. Not too crowded. The beer selection is passable but not exciting. Four or five taps with commonplace stuff and a monthly special - on this occasion De Leckere Paulus. About 25 bottles - mainly standard Belgian stuff plus a couple from Schedebrouwerij (OK I know that’s Belgian too these days) and De Leckere Pils if you need the tick. Pleasant enough but not really a beer destination.

Tilt has a slightly upscale feel, with dim lighting and plenty of new wooden fixtures shaped into jaunty angles. It’s a nice, well-appointed place. Tilt seemed to have a younger crowd than other bars I went to in Utrecht. The service is attentive. The selection’s pretty weak, and I’d adivse against visiting here if you’re looking to try new or interesting beers. The bottle list features a list of common Belgian brews. No sours. I opted for a beer from ’t Ij that was pretty poor. The value’s decent, standard for the area.

Nice relaxed bar with slightly more beery interest than your average Dutch bar. Tap had mass-produced lager but also Palm Sauvin and Franziskaner. Bottle selection small but pretty nice with Dupont, Scheldebrouwerij and other Belgian offerings. Nice outside area and friendly service. Food is fairly priced and fairly tasteful.
