70 Visited after dinner on a Wednesday with beastiefan2k. Located in a busier part of NW DC. Narrow restaurant, with a long bar with plenty of seating. Beer selection is 22 beers available as 4 oz or full pours, with a focus on local and regional beers. Lots of interesting styles. Service was slow at the bar, and pretty aloof. BBQ looked solid, with a focus on vegan options. (Locals should check it out, visitors with extended time) I only use the total score, not the component parts. |
78 Visited on a Thursday evening around 1830, and when we arrived there weren’t many people there. We were able to take advantage of Happy Hour, which let you have certain beers for $4 per pour. Service was a bit slow at the bar, but food service was fast. Food was delicious and hefty portions. I had the BBQ sampler, which gave me wings, ribs, pulled pork, and brisket plus two sides. All of which were excellent. Prices are about DC standard, high for most places but in line with the area. By the time we left the place was getting busy. I would definitely go back. It’s about a 20 minute walk from the Dupont Circle or Woodly Park Metro stop. Lots of shops nearby as well. Probably wouldn’t try driving here since street parking is pretty limited. |
76 Located in Adams Morgan it’s not really that close
to a metro stop. It’s a shotgun style dive bar that’s heavy on whiskey, bbq, and craft beer. They had a pretty good mix of local and regional craft and they sell beer in 4 ounce pours that makes for lots of tics. The staff was friendly and mostly attentive. The food was solid and resonantly prices for the reason. If i was back in the district I’d probably go back their before Churchkey. |
82 More of a Texas BBA restaurant, the tap list is still great.
All American craft beer taps with normal pints and 4 oz tasters that are anywhere from $2 to $8. A god send if you want to try a bunch of beers.
Food is excellent with BBQ tasting platters and sides such as Jalapeno cheddar grits and sweet potato fries.
Service is quick and the place is clean and kid friendly. |
86 Spent most of my time downstairs, which is more dive bar. Crowded on a Saturday night, barely found a spot for two. Had a big meat platter, which was super tasty but could only finish maybe 1/2. The single sampler was likely enough for two! 30 or so taps with lots of range and some real gems. Service in basement is all bar service, but bartenders were right on the ball and quick to help out. Came back a second night, on a Sunday when we were the only people in the place. They have Sunday night WD and GoT watching parties, would be fun to go back from that. Overall great spot. |
80 Two level restaurant with the downstairs operating more as a seat your self bar and the upstairs more traditional seating. Place had a rustic BBQ joint feel with people really packed in. Service was a bit slow and the table next to us had some issues but overall it was decent. A nice selection of taps that were mainly local. They give you a metric shit ton of food here. Wife and I ordered BBQ for two and barley made it through half. It was delicious though. Prices were good considering the amount of food you got. A good spot overall. |
86 Cool basement joint. Good beer selection, great BBQ, friendly and helpful staff. |
82 There were interesting taps on today with a few good’uns amongst them from a previous nights Whisky and Beer pairing (yes, whisky barrel aged Impy Stouts). The 4 oz pours were welcomed to try a couple and they were generous pours too. BBQ available alas I didn’t eat this time around. Staff were attentive and clearly knowledgeable about their beer and whisky. I arrived bang on opening time so avoided any potential after work crowd (Friday). |
76 rather big place with a nice taplist . Prices are alright , most things are available in small pours as well . Rather slow service though ( maybe just tonight ? ) . Would revisit . |
80 Nice beer list and decent BBQ. 25 draft beers - all available in small pours of $2 to $4. Nice deal. |
