58 Kind of a tired feeling to this tasting room, like they didn't put much thought into it, but it's pleasant. They have 8 beers on tap, displayed on a screen over the bar. Flights of 4 available for $7.50++, and single 4 oz pours available too for $1.75-2.25. Wasn't terribly impressed with the beer quality, despite having had good brews from them before. I was happy, however, to find a bottle of Le Temps Noir batch 3 to take away. Super friendly lady at the counter who was happy to talk beer. Worth a stop. |
76 Update - The new taproom is in and it is essentially a man cave. Games about, pinball league and comfy seating. Staff was nice and gave good local geek advice. Prices solid and a decent amount of seasonal. Solid spot with good hours. - Manitoba laws do not allow brewery taprooms, so what you get here is fresh bottles, special releases and merchandise. If you are lucky you will meet the owner/brewer and have a nice conversation. |
82 New review: I really liked the new tap room and I look forward to coming here often! Plus, they still have the best beer in Winnipeg.
Old review. I enjoyed my tour here. There’s no brewpub or anything like that here, but the tour was very interesting and Half Pints makes great beer. Worth checking out. |
84 Any review you see here before December 2016 doesn’t include the new tap room that just opened (since Manitoba finally legalized such places). The store area has been totally transformed into a small but inviting tap room. And you can get a bunch of beers on tap plus a few rare bottles available for purchase. Really cool place now. A must stop in Winnipeg. |
78 2019-06-15. Significant renovation since my last visit years ago. Nice space overall. Pinball machines around the corner. Great service. 8 taps and a few additional bottles/cans with a good mix of styles available today. Nice big couch in the corner. High top tables. Good mix of people enjoying a drink and picking up beer to go. Nice place, a worthy stop 2 of our Winnipeg beer crawl. |
58 Due to Manitoba laws they are only able to sell beer. No samples allowed. Only the regulars and one seasonal available in bottles which was a bit disappointing. A nice little spot however and the person working the counter was nice. Prices were nice. Not sure if it is worth the visit. Hopefully the laws will change. |
82 Had the chance to take a saturday tour. Very interesting, and samples throughout the tour. We got to go into the tasting lounge to sample some really goos seasonal brews. This is the only brewery I have ever toured, but I thought it was great, and they have their regulars on hand all the time, plus seasonals as well. Half Pints makes a great product.
Updated as of Christmas 2016: got to check out the tap room. Pretty cool place. Small but warm and great selection of seasonals and one offs. |
40 A disappointment. Was hoping for at least a taproom and draft beer, but found a small shop with one cooler of beer and a bunch of tshirts. Overall, not a good stop. Wasted my time a bit. |
