No Longer In Business

Another hard to find place (it’s on the 2nd floor!). As no one spoke English, we used an App to translate. Great beer selections incl. (at the time) Shonan Barleywine and Hinomaru Ale #2 from a gravity-fed cask. Dark small cozy place.

Very tasty food (if a tad overpriced) and a decent selection of Japanese craft beers. I had the basashi yukke, one of seven(!) horsemeat dishes on the menu. Didn’t much like the ambiance though - lighting too dark to read the menu, and the bartender wearing a vest looked like a leftover from the 1970s when unsophisticated people in Japan thought it was a "classy" touch. Ditto for the very dated faux-elegant decor. And the bartender must have been in a bad mood - he snatched my candle away from me (I was trying to read the menu, thank you), and was barely civil, even though I was the only customer on a rainy weeknight. I don’t mind a quiet atmosphere, but this place was depressing as hell.

Small place with a good selection of Japanese beers (only). Owners opened just for us, and put out an amazing spread of very tasty food. Nice draft selection too. Worth a stop.

Ok small - not too small place near Yokohama station. Selection is good. Priced a bit high. Good food. Nice service.

Most has already been said by my fellow drinkers. Very smart place but not formal. Nice small semi private Japanese tatami room also which was a nice touch. Prices average Tokyo around 1,000yen or slightly higher for a pint. Not sure on exactly how much beer that involved as the head poured is large but the glasses also seem to accommodate that.The guy is friendly enough & pays attention to detail. Handpumps are the right temperature and well poured, as is the stuff on keg but he does pour a large head. Rinses the glass Belgian style in cold water before serving. He pours a large head on purpose, for the ’image’. I managed to get less than a cm of head after I asked him nicely even though he mentioned it wasn’t the house policy. He is a friend so I was lucky! I also probably got an extra 25% beer in my glasses, because of it! The fujisakura rauch and Daisen wheat wine were in great condition. He occasionally has small beer events so it’s worth checking his website every now and then. Not so far from the station but not really close to anything else, so it’s not as busy as other craft beer bars. The food he put on for us was delicious, especially the fried chicken, the beef simmered in ale sauce and the various salads. If it were a little closer to the station or slightly cheaper, he might get more people in there regularly. A slightly overlooked but otherwise solid craft beer bar. Only Japanese craft on tap which is fine by me.

Went there a Sunday when it’s normally closed but held open for us. Got a nice selection of Japanese food. Decent selection of beer. A bit off although it is in reality rather close to the station.

I went last night for dinner and had a fantastic time. The beer line up was great, with lots of seasonal beers. I liked the fact there was three sizes on offer (330ml, 450ml and 540?ml) for each beer. Beer condition was good and served at good temperatures. The food was reasonably priced and was good enough that I would go to this place only if they served Asahi. Traditional Japanese food done extremely well. Menu was in English and Japanese and owner was friendly. Very low key place that unfortunately is located a bit out of the way, though not far from the station, so walk by traffic is minimal and I don’t think it gets very busy. Concept is great and I will definitely be back. Highly recommended if you want great Japanese food and beer.

Nice place. Seating for probably about 20, maybe a few more. Few tables and seats at the bar. Quite a classy feel, subdued lighting and jazz music. Didn’t have the food, but it looked decent. Apparently they have a fancy bit of equipment that means they can serve beers with however much carbonation you want, or something like that. Needless to say everything we ordered tasted just about perfect. Wasn’t aware of the selection being that mainstream, but there were definitely enough to choose from. Really liked this place. Exactly what we needed after a hectic day in Yokohama.

Decent enough place, but with so much competition these days, certainly not at the top of the totem pole. Very classy establishment - reminds me a a modernised craft beer bar out in Kannai. A fair swathe of taps, but nothing too mind blowing, just a good assortment of regulars from the bigger craft brewers. All Japanese. A little bit pricey for Yokohama, more in line with Tokyo. Good to spice up a night in Yokohama, but not worth a special visit. If you ask for a small head.they will not fill the glass up to the top.

3-4 minute walk from Yokohama North exit. We went at noon on Sunday. Owner looked like he’d rather still be in bed, but he was very friendly and super knowledgable about serving beer. Served at correct temperature in the correct glass. 16 taps include 2 hand pumps. Good variety, all Japanese micro, although nothing rare or very hard to find. Nice place with quiet jazz playing (in case you want a contrast to nearby Thrash Zone). I liked this place, and would go often if I lived nearby.
