78 Went here for the beer and mead social. Very nice set up. Staff enjoy good beer and they have a nice selection. I will definitely be back again to try some of their taps. |
70 Newish location in Spenard. Fairly big place that is a bit dark and dingy and there is live music almost every night. Service can be hit or miss, we were there once on a slow Sunday evening and it sucked and once on a busy Friday night and it was pretty good. Selection of beer is great, lots of local one off beers and beer from other parts of Alaska as well as a few out of state micros and some local mead. Food is about what you would expect from a brewpub with a few Alaskan items thrown in. Prices are a bit high for what you get but pretty typical for Alaska. Overall a great place to get a beer and maybe some food. |
96 This place has moved to the old Fly-by-Night club in Spenard and is MUCH bigger than the old location in Southside.
Big stage, live music every night, opens at 4pm. Large tap selection of mostly AK beers and they also have meads as well as a full bar. Bartender admits she a beer newbie but knows enough to suggest beers.
We were her only customers and were given samples of a few beers as well as we ordered several. We didn’t try the food as we had just eaten.
Mostly Alaskan beers from all over which allowed us to try a bit of everything. They had the most Denail beers on tap which was fantastic.
If I was a local I could see myself coming here often. Great place! |
72 Visited early on a Friday, just before lunch. Located on the outskirts of town just off the highway in a small strip mall. Small bar with and about 10 or so bar height tables scattered throughout and a small ’stage’ in the front corner. Nice draft selection of 15 handle spots, but 2 were empty on our stop. I seem to recall all but maybe 1-2 being AK breweries. No taster trays and they only list one size per pour, but the bartender let me sample a couple before I ordered. Didn’t look at the menu, or notice food at any of the tables around me...so can’t comment on that. But if you are heading out to Midnight Sun, this isn’t too far down the road and a good place to get some AK beers. |
