This is a U-brew possibly the only one around town that makes (real) beer from scratch. You can see the sacks of barley from the door, and yes, the place smells like a brewery. Doh!

Outstanding beer, better than anything at the store.
The owner was actually a chemical engineer, so he understood what he was doing. Unfortunately he passed away recently, and there is new ownership.

56 The proprietor is a British guy who used to own a pub in the UK. In addition to being a homebrew shop, it is also a U-brew place with a bunch of recipes worked out. They mostly sell extract+specialty grains. They do 10 gallon batches here in about six large kettles that they built themselves. Not a bad place to buy ingredients, but I prefer Dan’s. |
