70 Building like from the 20s or so. Eclectic decor. Bathrooms quite modern. Food has always been great. The ales are very good, and the food selection is interesting. Parking can be a bit of a struggle, but it’s worth it. Elk Grove also has a BevMo a few miles away, so you can kill two birds with the proverbial stone. |
62 I went here around noon on a Sunday. There were 2 other people at the bar and that was it. The ambiance is very rustic and seems like a saloon-like atmosphere. It is not faux at all and there are lots of local historical artifacts spread throughout. There are fermenters and brewing gear on your right as you walk in. To to left is the bar area. They had about 10 beers on tap with a couple of ciders. Despite the place being dead, the bartender was pretty inadequate. She was unattentive and pretty unconcerned about me. The menu is pretty standard ranging from bugers and appetizers to some steaks and pasta. I found the items to be overly expensive. $10 for a fucking burger is a rip off. I had the chili cheeseburger, which was good. The portions are large, but you pay for them. The couple of beers I had were good. All in all, this is a pretty place with a decent selection of house beers. Save your money on the food. Oh yeah, parking can be tricky I imagine. |
68 Great beers, lots of locals, tough to get noticed if they don’t recognize you, but the beer more then makes up fot it. Didn’t try the food, but seemed to be standard pub fair. |
