78 Kind of hidden away in the shopping center behind what used to be a Nordstrom Rack and is now just a vacant building. Beer list is very surprisingly good. Some local Riverside brewery taps (scroll past), but lots of stuff from San Diego and the Bay Area. A couple of the usual lagers (Coors, etc.) as well. Service was quick and friendly. Pretty good prices too, my beer was only $4. |
74 This is a very strange place, but a worthy ratebeer entry surprisingly. It is an Irish Pub cum Night Club in an outdoor mall tucked behind Lounge 33 and an extremely popular Mexican restaurant. Around 10pm, this low key Irish pub gets 25 security guards and bouncers along with two DJs in opposite ends of the bar with a "VIP" room as t0rin0 said. Staff was annoying and treated me like a high school student and was certain my out of state ID was fake. Ignored everything he said to me and he finally shut up. Inside the bar, you’ll find a shockingly good selection for such a place. Russian River, Drakes, Stone special release stuff, Packinghouse, Wiens, Ironfire and more CA local stuff on tap with a good bottle list including Panil Barrique, Parabola, and more. Bartenders were friendly unlike the idiot "security" staff. Didn’t look like the type of place that does samplers or flights, but given the vibe I don’t think I would be caught dead walking around with a beer sampler tray here past 9pm. Will probably be back at an earlier time. $12 for full pours of Stone w00tstout and Ruination Tropical Heat. Pretty good I’d say. |

I’ve heard good things about this place, especially the beer selection so it was definitely on the list of places to check out. I guess we went at the wrong time (Saturday night) and I learned the true meaning of 9bro9. Holy crap. Sideways hats, fat / country / corn fed, face tattoos, and Dodgers gear everywhere. This place was set up like a night club with a DJ and this little VIP area roped off and guarded by a bouncer. Pretty funny really. I guess the moral of the story is know what to expect during a popular time. That said, the beer list is quite good. I counted half a dozen good beers that I would order pints of plus a couple ticks. The beer list is weird since they have at least three sets of taps in different areas and I couldn’t find a consolidated tap list anywhere, so you basically have to walk around to see what all is available. I went with the tropical Ruination (has some fruits I think but it had some peppers in it which ruins it for me). Chinoskillzian went with an IPA from Ironfire which was really quite good. |
96 Friendly service, great and warm ambience, overall comfortable pub experience. |
80 This is a nice place. Good looking pub decor with a lot of natural light. The tap list was very good (Alesmith, Hangar 24, Stone, Ommegang, FW, etc) and the food I had was good. I had pints of Sculpin, Hangar 24 3rd Anniv and Parabola when I was there. Definitely worth hitting when in Riverside.
