This is a wine store with beer as a complete afterthought. The selection is just okay. I saw things I would like to drink, but nothing rare or new. Honestly the run down, discount shop just a block from my apartment has an equally good beer selection. The prices at Sip are noticeably high, logical given their location. My advice is to just skip here and go to Mr. B’s a couple blocks up. They place considerable more focus on the beer.

First stop of the day while hiking from the hotel all the way up to the new Epic tap room. This is mostly a wine store with a little bit of beer. I wouldn’t go so far as to say that the beer is an afterthought but it is a very distant second to the wine (by sheer volume, not sure how the wine selection is). I saw plenty of the usual selections (New Beligum, Avery, Odell, etc) but also a few interesting imports that I hadn’t seen before in the other shops in the area. Don’t go here expecting some major haul but if you’re in the area definitely stop in and you might find something you didn’t expect to see.

Trendy-looking store in a renovated old brick building - pretty much the only thing this place has going for it is its proximity to the downtown bars and brewpubs - extensive, nicely arranged selection of wine - the staff completely ignored me - never said hello - never asked if I needed help - never even looked in my general direction - pathetic -a couple of coolers of beer in the back - they have Dupont and a few of the Jolly Pumpkin beers, but outside of that, there is nothing here that the third tier Denver liquor stores don’t have (Avery bombers and sixers, Odell 750s and sixers, etc.) - a couple of Lost Abbey beers bump my selection rating up a notch - not really worth a stop unless you happen to be limiting your travels to LoDo.

update: under new management. who knows how it is now. Nice spot for a quick pickup on the way out of LoDo - they’re open until 10pm but might be open a few minutes later depending on who is working. Focus is wine but the beer selection is quite respectable - small but quality Belgian selection, some of the finer US products such as Jolly Pumpkin and Russian River. Prices about normal, surprising for the location but I imagine most of their profit comes from wine. Nice store.
