74 This was a great brew pub for the area. Always something new to try. Good food and good service. It will be missed greatly. |
86 I’ve only been to the Granby CBH once, but I frequent the Torrington branch. Located in Downtown Torrington, this is a great place for an app, burger and/or a few pints. They usually have a guest tap among their CBH selections (Hooker, Sierra Nevada, etc) and rarely to they disappoint. Their bartenders Nate and Jackie are always doing an awesome job. Notable brews to date are their Big Hoppi, which they offered last summer and Three Steve Stout (ABV 10.0% I think). If you are heading to see a quality show at the Warner Theatre, definitely plan your trip around stopping here first. You won’t be disappointed. |
76 Located in the heart of downtown Torrington a few shop fronts down from the Warner Theater, this place has several rooms, an inviting, but smaller bar area, 8-10 taps depending on the time of the year, and a balcony. The menu food wise is exactly the same as the Granby location and the beer selection is also pretty similar. Parking is a bit of a challenge, but otherwise, much easier to get to than the other location. |
74 This Cambridge House has a slightly classier feel to it (not as family-oriented as the Granby location perhaps?), but still has a bar and a dining room area. Location might be easier to get to since it is right in the middle of main street Torrington, whereas Granby is in the middle of...nowhere. The beers here are still brewed by Steve, and I must they are all top notch. Super clean, professional, flavorful, etc. You can’t ask more from a brewpub, frankly. If any of the two Cambridge House brewpubs were within easy reach, I would probably head there more often. Still, these guys and Dave at Willimantic brew the best beers in Connecticut, imho. |
