This place was added to the ratebeer database by me because it carries the following four beers from Amager Bryghus: - Sundby Stout - Christianshavn Pale Ale - Bryggens Blonde. - Wookie IPA The actual brewery is located less than two kilometres away making the café the second most local place to enjoy beers from there (Traktørstedet is about 250 metres closer and the brewery itself is known to host open sampling events on Saturdays from 10 - 13). The place overlooks the largest natural preserve adjacent to any capital city in Northern Europe. The area is a protected habitat for migratory seabirds and the flat terrain combined with the grazing cattle makes it look a bit like an African savannah in the summer. Sitting on the terrace overlooking the landscape one can also enjoy the sight of seabirds swimming in the artificial lake, people enjoying themselves in the kayaks freely available to anybody, working out in the outdoor gym at the end of the pier and the many runners and bicyclists enjoying the commons. It is also often possible to follow the departures of airplanes from Copenhagen Airport, which is situated a few kilometres from the area. Ambience: Best in the summer when you can sit outside and enjoy the weather, water and views Service: Pretty good on weekdays but on weekends there are so many visitors and often not enough staff that it is hard to get their attention Selection: After working hours they have a restaurant menu as well as a few café items such as a burger at 15 euro. The selection of good beer is limited to options from Nørrebro Bryghus and Amager Bryghus and the prices are a bit above what they ought to be (The adjacent Traktørstedet Vestamager is around 33% cheaper). The quality of the food is actually very good. They have ambitions with their food that goes beyond your average city centre café. It is reflected in the price however. Calling the place "a canteen" is not really warranted: The interior is designed by architect Bjarke Ingels and it resembles a city centre café with the bar in the middle of the room and huge panoramic windows to the south and west from where you can enjoy great views of the nature preserve.

Cafe at the end of the ørestad area, overlooking an artificial lake and wide grassy areas. Beer selection is pretty boring, with a few taps and a few bottles. Don’t go here for beer, it’s really nothing special at all. I don’t really think the cafe should be on ratebeer. It is so close to copehagen where every bar and cafe has a wider selection . taps: Ravnsborg rød, nørrebro NY lager, carsperg pils, tuborg classic, hoegaarden franziskaner. Bottles : styukman wit,nørrebro globe ale, nørrebro ceske bøhmer, tuborg, guld tuborg, tuborg super light. Sitting outside is okay, inside it is a little too much like a canteen for my liking.
