42 We did not stop for a drink, just spent an hour or so in the shop. Unfortunately this place has gone downhill since last year with lots of very out of date bottles on the shelves (even the ones he got us from the bar). The warehouse is so damp that even fresh bottles have rusty caps and covered in mould. We wanted to get a few crates but he only had a couple of bottles of each, with no Rochefort, DT, Orval or Chimay at all! The owner was friendly enough and I did find 2 bottles of Black Albert in date which was nice... But we wont be coming back I’m afraid. |
86 Not the most practical building for a beer store but if you want a beer, the owner has it, or he will do his best to get is. Very friendly owner. |
90 Very nice beer bar with over 1500 Belgian beers! Always fun with Vacas, ambiance for sure in the late hours.
The only downside is the expensive geuze beer. All other beers are reasonably priced.
Vacas always knows to find a place for foreign people to sleep, just ask him.
A must visit! |
88 Might not be the most pretty or cosy beer shop I’ve ever been to. But who cares? He has practically every Belgian beer! If you throw a party, you can pick up cases and you can return them. By the bottle. You don’t have to buy half finished crates! Should come here more often, but it’s hard to do so, with Geers and the Hopduvel at 10 min from my house. |
86 Top place 1500 bottles sorted by alphabet but we’re alone in the house -( |
98 I asked multiple beer Dutch and Belgian beer geeks where they suggest I visit during my trip to Belgium and this shop was at the top of everyone’s list. I was not disappointed...not even a little. Vacas, the owner was VERY accommodating and took me back to the beer shop even though it wasn’t officially open. Was able to try and buy some amazing beers. Don’t miss this one if you have a car. It might be hard to get to otherwise. |
86 Just wanted to buy a bottle or two on our melancholy way back from a Vlaanderen beer tour but then this bar turned out to be one of the coolest places to sit down and enjoy some great brews from all Belgium (+ La Trappe). More than 20 fridges loaded with almost 50 sorts each, in alphabetical order, make it a never-ending pleasure to decide which one to have next. |
66 The "Loods" has a great selection of Belgian beers. Prices are a bit high, but understandable when you see the amount of different beers they have.
The pub is very nice and chill to sit and relax while you’re enjoying a new beer. The guy behind the bar is friendly and has a great knowledge about the beers he sells. Always different beers on tap.
You have to go here because you want to tast new beers, not for having a wild night or something ;) |
88 1500 !!! Beers in one pub You just have to go there and check the pub and the shop, just great |
8 Called 2 times to confirm the openingshous of the shop before I left. No response, also nothing at the voicemail, only "vacas", no openinghours or something. So I drove 50km to get to some kind of stable that looked like it got evicted 5 years ago in a hurry... No information around about openingtimes or something, and the times at the website seems not to be right, cause the doors where closed. Called again a few times the number that was painted at the truck standing there. No response... What a shop... At least hang out that the shop is closed, that you are on vacation, that...Or pick up the phone and update your website! Chance is small they will see me back there. |
