Another popular taproom tucked away in the hutongs. The Slow Boat taproom is a popular spot indeed and with twenty taps of their own beer it’s a great place to hit them all. I’ve never eaten here but the burgers are raved about so perhaps visit hungry. Fun place to throw on a beer crawl in Beijing and shoot the shit with the regulars.

As others say not difficult to find but difficult to spot. Was in here on Tuesday and it was manically busy, orders flying in. Beers are generally pretty good and no faults with the staff. Different offers on different nights, today’s was a two for one on two of the beers. Range was 10 on tap and 3 bottles. A must visit in Beijing. Burgers are excellent and fries are to die for.

Located in a Hutong not far from Zhangzizhonglu subway station, found it a little hard to find as the only singage is a small brass ’slow boat’ sign on a wooden door but once inside found it a busy friendly place. All the beers tried were excellent especially the Vanilla Stout, food is burgers so if your looking for something a bit more Western you can’t go wrong with the food here. After NBeer my favourite bar of my trip.

Small, crowded location in the hutong. A long lineup of self brewed beers. Bottled beers are made by their own brewery in California. Good, friendly service. Mixed crowd. Beers are pretty good, but perhaps slightly behind Jing-A and Great Leap. Food is burger centric.

We visited this place 28.11.2014. The tap room is located in a very nice hutong neighborhood. Very small and nice place with some tables and benches and the bar. Just do not like their beers, nothing special and some of them are even bad. Service also not so friendly. This location deserves better beer for sure !

Hidden down a hutong, you don’t expect to find a pub here. Not a brewpub - the beers are brewed elsewhere but its the main venue for slow boat beers. On a friday night at 7pm it was standing room only. Food evidently very popular here with burgers being the mode du jour. Its pretty small with a number of chunky tables, a few stalls at the bar and some space outside. Good range of maybe 18 slow boat beers on, regulars and specials. Tasting tray available 5 or 3 100ml samples or pints of course. Friendly American staff. Few bottles available to drink in or take away but mostly keg only.
