20 I searched high and low for the Red Zebra and eventually worked out that, as Simon (Haddonsman) reported back in 2012, it’s no longer a bottle shop but a wine bar (now known as Rowley’s Gin Bar and Wine Cellar) and it has little if anything to offer the beer drinker.

60 Small boutique range of drinks but very well presented. Helpful staff. The shop is not helped by its very small size |
68 A small gourmet drinks store that also stocks what must be the only good selection in Derby and it’s a bit beyond good. The service is as good as it gets, run by a passionate bloke who will be into chatting with any visitor. The selection offers a few rarities, for ciders as much as meads and beers, stuff like Thornbridge, Alcazar should be represented. One of the best in the neighborhood undoubtedly. |
8 UPDATE JANUARY 2012: No longer a bottle shop, it’s a wine bar witrh some German lager on draught. Avoid.
UPDATE January 2010 Beer range vastly reduced
UPDATE: October 2008 NEW STORE NOW OPEN near to Cathedral / Olde Dolphin
Solid range of beers from Derbyshire, UK microbrewers and some regular Belgian/German stuff. Also a strong range of wines, malt whiskies, mead, specialist spirits. |
