No Longer In Business

Tried to go in few days, and its either closed or being done up. but looks like its being tatally gutted. Will try check again and update

Went for a quick beer on a Sunday afternoon, the place was deserted. The woman in the bar was nice enough. The tap line consisted of only 5 different real ales at the moment, of which only one or two were something I hadn’t seen next door at the more appealing Teuchter. They did say something about changing their drinks menu so hopefully they’ll get things sorted.

Visited on Friday evening. Crowded traditional pub, older people, good selection of local real ales. Not too interesting ones though. Just opposite of Teuchtars.

A great place for the marriage of cask ales and live sport if you enjoy both of those vices. It’s somewhat hidden in the grand scheme of things in a dense terrace house area just to the north of Haymarket station. The appealing exterior of the end terrace reveals a more ordinary looking traditional style pub in the interior but it’s still a nice place to drink, and there’s plenty of options with cask choice reaching into double figures on good days. Visited as it was listed in the Rough Guide to Scotland.

This bar was a nice find for us in Edinburgh, not touristy, sports bar with a lively crowd, good food , good beer selection if not any big beers, and friendly

A real pub with lots of cask ales! Unfortunately, this was very bad timing as there seemed to be about 4 pumps where they were waiting for beers to come on. I suppose this shows that they treat their beer well, so should be grateful. Will have to re-rate the next time I’m in.

I am really surprised this one has not yet been added to Ratebeer. Medium sized but spacious, quite & relaxed, sports on TV, 10 real ale taps, 9 in use when I was there, intersting beers, helpful service. Close to Haymarket Station & up there with the best in Edinburgh.
