First, it’s a Chinese restaurant with a brewpub attached. I didn’t know what to expect going in; but that’s it exactly. It’s also a bit oddly shaped; kind of a trapezoid, if that type of thing bothers you. That said, I came for the beer, and found myself pleasantly surprised after some bad reviews. The doppelbock, in particular was well done. Maybe they changed brewers, I don’t know. I’ll probably stop by again sometime though to sample the food. Because the service was attentive during a slow period of the day, and I like Chinese food so there’s reason for me to make another stop in. Just don’t go in expecting a swamp of ticks.

A high quality, finer dining Chinese restaurant that makes bad beer. The food is great and the space is inviting if a bit stretched out. Gather ticks if you must; there’s no other reason to consider this cool little place just for the beer.

Have had lunch several times near here, but today it was a little later and i got here just as they opened at 2, happy hour. Had one of my best beers in a long time, a strong dark with chocolate & orange flavors--last keg of a batch made in january. the strong ed also very good, crispier than most reds, but with a some citrus flavor. guys next to ee enjoying the white ale and IPA, as well as happy hour dim sum that looked great (I had just had a big bowl of pho couple blocks away. Very knowledgeable and friendly bartender.

What a concept: Chinese food and beer, two of my favourite things combined. The beer is surprisingly good, with a range of style available, some a bit off-kilter with weird adjuncts, but all executed skillfully, though nothing overly impressive. Flights of all their beers are available for a reasonable price. The food isn’t overly authentic, is on the more expensive side (for Portland), and was really salty -- though still quite tasty, with lots of vegetarian/vegan options available. Go for the experience. We certainly enjoyed it.

Interesting place. A basic sort of chill and fancy Chinese restaurant. It also has a five barrel system and usually 8 beers of their own on tap. I thought the beer was fine, nothing amazing, but solid. The food was a bit too fancy, oily and small portioned for me. But I’m from Pittsburgh so....Anyway, a cool place. Happy hour 3 dollar pints. Certainly worth visiting.

Less a brewpub and more an Asian restaurant which happens to make beer, but in a town like Portland the quality of the beer is lacking. I was disappointed by the two things I tried, the first a resinous and overly-bitter and slightly-dirty Session IPA, and the second being another ridiculous try at an "Asian" lager, made with rice, orange peel, flower petals, etc.
