70 A tiny end-terrace shop unit about 20 metres off the main road half-way up the hill from the railway crossing. There's only enough room for bottles on shelves on three walls and a central shelving unit in a room that can't be more than 4x4 metres, and more than half a dozen people in here is impractical. The dimensions of the place matter very little though as the bottle and can selection is very good for this area, with a mainly UK focus, although there's beers from the low countries on the right after you walk in. Local and regional selections are king here with Brightside, Ramsbottom Craft and Irwell Works well represented, but Cloudwater, Torrside and other newish craft brewers of the same ilk are here too. There was also a shelf with special Christmas ales given it was that time of year I visited. |
