Location is the only plus point. As has been mentioned, beers are poor and overpriced. Besides the 7.50 euros for the flight it was €5 for a shandy. They r obviously cashing in on the beer tourist. Please try a little harder and visit some of the real places around Riga. Effort=reward.

Shitty place. Tourist trap with absurd prices. Just 3 beers on tap, available in a flight for €7.50 - stupid - and the beers were barely drinkable. Food was tasty but also stupidly priced, and they'll tack on random €1.50 charges for things like ketchup without notice. Service is fine, but lacking in care. Don't bother with this place.

Visited near closing time during RBESG 2017. More restaurant than bar with a large serving bar, tables and a covered deck. Just three house beers available as a flight. They were drinkable, but just barely. Decent service considering they were closing. You could skip this place and not miss anything.

Visited during RBESG 17. Came in late, others already ordered a flight. Nice large brewpub with both a modern and a historic feel to it, lots of space outside as well as inside. Staff all dressed in folkloristic outfits. The beers were not great tbh. Didn’t try the food. Might be OK to have some food though and tick the beers, as there are many better beer places in Riga.

First time visitor to Latvia, Riga visit due to RBESG. My visit on Wednesday July 19, 2017.

Walked in with a group fairly late, almost getting close to closing I think. They had three beers available, got them as a flight. All three beers were decent, but not special. Has a beer hall kind of feel to it inside, also an outside patio. I rather liked the place, but the beers weren’t really good enough to keep getting more for drinking. Perhaps if I will revisit sometime I’ll try the beers out for drinkability instead of sampling only. If in Riga again, will pop in and see how I like it for a longer visit. Decent service, also explained a bit about the beers, helped out with phone charging as well.

2017 Rating (4:6:4:x:6:12=52) OK, definitely brewing here now, and I’m pretty sure I got the house beers this time - and all of them were on decent form, if nothing special - and the staff even knew which was which. Staff also friendlier. Slight bump to ratings for that.
Original 2015 rating (4:5:4:x:6:11=48) 2015: Right near St. Peter’s church, obviously. Lovely sophisticated interior, but not unwelcoming. Staff were trying to be very helpful, but had that "we are here to serve you" demeanor which I find less pleasant than a more casual one. Even got to have a chat with someone who claimed to be involved with the bbrewing about some of the details of the beers. It’s always nice to see new unfiltered lagers, even if they were unexciting. I can imagine if I want a nice meal I might pop back here, as I still need the blonde lager... Or do I? Now I’ve seen photos of all three, it looks like I had the blond, despite the staff telling me I was drinking the red. How could a real brewer not know the difference between his brews, and what was on or not? This makes me deeply suspicious. I hope this isn’t just a front. The equipment on display didn’t look like it would be suitable for commercial brewing, I presumed it was just for show and the real brewery kit was out back, yet they did seem to imply it’s what they used. I particularly don’t like the feeling that I can’t trust the staff, even if it’s unfounded, so my service score reflects that. Curiouser, and curiouser...

Det er en dejlig restaurant midt i Riga. Personalet er venlige og hjælpsomme, maden er god og det er bestemt et sted man skal besøge, når man er i Riga. Deres øl derimod er ikke særlig gode.

Where to begin.... well, the interior is rather nice, and the staff is polite. The beer.. here’s where the better part ends abruptly. Had the tasting kit - 250 ml of each of their three beers. Blonde was bland and nearly tasteless, but actually drinkable. Dark had gone sour, and very much so, but seemed as it could have been another generic Dunkel when it was fresh. Red was the worst offender - I’m not sure if it was spoilt or not, but it was so repulsive that it couldn’t have been much good at any stage. And the "beer" here is quite pricey even compared to other places in Old Town. Didn’t try any food, but regarding the beer - avoid like the plague.
