80 Nice pleasant atmosphere and setting. A little smaller than its "Rocks" cousin but its all the better for it. Selection of beers is great, nearly all the Belgians you could want (aside from the Westvletern ;). A bit pricy but worth it for the beer. The staff generally know their stuff when it comes to beer. Certianly worth a visit. |
84 BBC was my local while I was working in Nth Sydney for three months. After rugby practice on Tue and Thur, I’d walk up the hill and have my fill of great food and interesting Belgian ales. Atmosphere is excellent and very European, though as reported they can get quite busy. As a singleton, I was happy to sit in the bar and chat with the bartenders. Belgian ale knowledge is very good to excellent. Selection is as good as it gets in Oz, I’ve only seen a couple other specialty Belgian alehouses which do better. Fairly pricey, which should be expected for such a specialty place in such a toney neighborhood. |
56 I nice little bar/cafe/restaurant, in the European style. Its always busy, which adds to the atmosphere, and as Linc says, if you wanna sit down and eat, you better book in advance. Decent selection, but expensive, and served way too cold. Staff seem to be trained up on their beer knowledge, but can be a little rushed and service can be slow. |
76 Great place with a good selection of Belgians, excellent food to match. Always got a good crowd, worth booking a table if you don’t want stand at the bar all evening.
Beer prices very steep and they are all served ice cold, which pisses me off. But if you are prepared to wait for that $16 Rochefort 10 to reach room temp then this place has a lot going for it. |
90 Great place my first introduction to a wide range of belgian beers. |
92 A place for true beer lovers simple because of the great and vast selection. Although not big, has a good atmosphere and the bartenders really know their stuff. Not cheap, but quality assured. The food is also suppose to be great, and I may have to try it for myself next time. |
