Pooped in on my way past Lei ester, they were closing but stayed open for me. Knowledgable staff, and a few local beers. There appeared a lot of genre real supermarket fair but had some from local breweries too. Nice enough beer shop.

Brilliant shop, went in for a specific beer they hadnt got it at that time but after taking my details they had it in the next day! Exceptional friendly service, and a vast variety of drinks, 125+ types of bottled beer, 150+ different types of whiskey, wines from so many different countries all items at a very reasonable price, beating the local supermarkets on almost everythin pricewise but totally knocking the supermarkets out with regards to selection. A must visit place for anyone with a love of whiskeys, beers, spirits and wines. Top score from me!

Well established off licence in sunny Syston, which is 20 minutes from Leicester, on the road to Melton Mowbray. Carries a lot of bottled real ales, including some from local breweries Bees and Belvoir. Also has a lot of German beers - mainly lagers and wheat beers, but some bin end obscurities, such as Dentleiner which I grabbed at Xmas. Has some Belgian fruit beers, but it’s macro stuff mostly. You are never sure if you wil find a nice treat, and it’s cheap too (orig review = 28/3/10. RE-RATE: now under new ownership and seemingly committed to expanding their range. Less canned lagers now and more bottled real ales. Not ’craft’ orientated at present, but does have Brewdog and promises more lines before Xmas, including lots of Belgians and Germans. This is really promising - set fair as Leicester’s second best offie and the tops in North Leics.
