A rather modern street corner place with a separate dining room. It is situated close to the Regents Canal in Islington and with Earl of Essex in its neighbourhood. I guess most people come here for the organic food from Riverford Organic Farmers. My pan fried organically farmed salmon was tasty, but rather expensive. Four cask ales and four keg beers on offer. My two cask ales from Pitfield were not in its best shape. Polite service. Not a must visit pub, I would say. (With Internklubben 10.04.2016).

Despite being poured the wrong beer things were rectified quickly with apologies. Very much dominated by organic food and all beers served are organic [I do wonder if their wines are all 100% organic!] I enjoyed 2 halves in the corner while using their free wi-fi. 4 cask ales were on.

Clearly food oriented but I’ve never eaten here. I imagine it would be a rather uncomfortable place to visit just for a beer at busy times but I’ve never visited at busy times so that’s just a feeling. Had the place almost to ourselves on a Monday afternoon when the kitchen was closed but sat outside as the sun was shining. Everything is organic, including the beer, which explains the rather odd-looking selection. Pitfiekld beers often feature. Worth a look if in the area.

street corner establishment 6 or 7 minutes walk from Angel tube and a stones throw from Wenlock basin. Single room with wooden flooring and largely bench seating, the focus is very much on food of the organic nature. Ive only ever had a pint here but the food does look good. Service has always been fine on my visits. Beer range ok but not overly exciting, usually 3 or 4 casks on including one from Pitfield and something organic in line with the food ethos, as with the food expect to pay a little more than other venues for your beer! Not much of a locals pub, more local yummy mummies and new comers to this gentrified area. Not a venue to seek out in its own right but worth popping by if in the area.

The Duke of Cambridge is an old street corner pub which has been knocked through and transformed into a rather trendy, airy and spacious all organic pub in a well heeled residential area of elegant Georgian townhouses. It’s normally very foody but it was deserted on a Monday afternoon before the kitchen opened and it was pleasant to sit outside at one of the tables on the pavement. There are four hand pumps, six keg taps (with cider as well as beer) and a range of bottles. We picked up a bottle of Laverstoke lager (produced by Jody Scheckter, the former racing driver) there before moving on to the Earl of Essex, which is less than five minutes walk away. (Visited 3 June 2013).

The pub/restaurant itself is pleasant - very airy, sidewalk seating and cellar atmosphere inside. Pure organic pub so beer and food is as expected. I actually didn’t find the beer too exciting and not really worth going out of the way for, but having said that it’s not far from Wenlock Arms.

One of the nicest pubs to walk in and have a meal, if you just want a drink, i wouldn’t bother it’s usually rammed full of people eating the organic menu and paying a little too much for it, don’t get me wrong the food is superb but I found it a little on the expensive side. The beers on handpull were good too i believe it was st peters organic on cask, good condition.

That’s one pub that stands out from the zillion other London pubs. The beer selection is above average with many casks focusing on smaller breweries (all organic as this is the new trend in London). While I was there they had a some Pitfields cask beer that I didn’t see in any of the many other pubs I visited in London. The pub also feels “authentic”. Old building with old wooden tables, old wooden chairs, old wooden floor, old original everything. Cuisine seems to be the main attraction, on the fancy side and a bit pricy (for a pub). Located in the Islington area at walkable distance from the Wenlock Arms (best London pub). My recommendation for pub crawlers is hit this pub for food and a pint or two and then move on to the Wenlock for the night.
