"Novelty beer" is the most apt description I can think of for this place. It’s weird, inventive stuff but none of it is particularly good. You can see what they’re doing with a lot of the styles and appreciate the creativity, but doing a simpler, better standard style would benefit them, I think. Cool location inside of an old building by the river on the south side of Downtown. A smaller bar but plenty of tables around. Very dark and a little musty. Samplers are expensive but pints are reasonable.

Very basic (in a good way) looking bar. First thing you notice when you walk in, is the strong fresh brewing smell - Yum! 9 taps and 1 cask, good variety of styles. Pretty good quality overall.

This is a nice, cozy little brewpub with tons of local ambiance. No food, just a local joint to enjoy on premise brewed beers. Service was ok, as the bartender was not that outgoing or friendly. Maybe it’s because I was overdressed. I only had time for one beer, but it was excellent. If I lived here, I could see myself spending a lot of time here.

As I walked in, I smelled brewing, mmmm. What I liked most about this place is that I felt welcomed even though this was the first time I was in this place. The people in the pub was friendly, the bartender was well informed, personable, and prompt. The ambiance was comfortable. I wish I had a designated driver. If in Peoria, stop by and have a pint. I will be back again.

I love this place. I usually stop by after work for one. There’s always a 9% to 12% abv on tap. There’s also a cask which is a bonus. This is a locals kinda of place, they don’t worry about fancy TV’s or food. They care about good beer. Mark the Brewmaster is very friendly and knowledgeable. I’ve brewed two batches of beer with him so far, it’s been a nice experience and the beer turned out great. My favorites are the MacBeth’s Revenge, Dark Star Porter, Belgium Tripel, Imperial Stout, and Double Red.

A quaint little place...most of their beers were solid...the bartender was more concerned with the regulars at the bar than us though...

Great place to brew your own beer. I believe one of the only pubs in Illinois that still allows you to do this. I have been going here with my family for a long time now to brew batches of 5 cases. Mark, the brewmaster, is a great guy and friendly. Great beer. Don’t expect anything fancy if you are going here for food or to watch a sports game though.
