36 Hmmm, maybe this place was a lot better some time ago, but as it is today (Christmas Eve 2005) I have to wonder why it’s worth a listing. Mediocre selection of fairly mainstream midwest/US micros (Bells,Anchor,SA,SN) and a few foreign macros...there are better stores than this even in Rockford. Looks mostly like a Pier One. |
50 I don’t understand the concept, beer for guys and frilly pillows for the girls. Majority of the goods is over priced. Beer wise, there was not much locally brewed products. I did pick up a 10 pack of assorted summer beers for $6.48. That was a steal. |
50 Beer selection is limited. Rockford doesnt have much in the way of beer. So I guess I understand why this place was added. |
56 A very cool store, lots of neat little foreign knick-knacks and food. Their alcohol section is mostly dominated by wines, but they do have a wall of beer. A lot of macros and foreign pale lagers, but a few decent offerings. They also have a few meads and sakes to choose from. It is a department store, so don’t expect much help from the staff; they seemed mostly knowledgeable on wines anyway. Single bottles are available, so that is worth something. Worth at least a stop by if you are on State Street doing some shopping. |
