Beer Crazy

Small hybrid bottle shop / home brew store. I was primarily interested in finding locals and was pleased to find about 50 Iowa ticks. The selection’s rounded out by another 200 or so bottles. Tight but well curated. Prices were quite cheap and service was friendly. Decent spot. A convenient place to stop if you’re driving through Des Moines.

A small store that appears to be more geared toward the beer geek. Its seems to be a homebrew shop first beer store second. The selection is not what you might get at a mega grocery but what they have in not fluff. You arent looking over cans of swill or Guinness looking for craft beer. The price seems reasonable. I made out with quite a haul for about $40. Overall a nice place to check out.

An okay beer store, but what makes it nice is that its also a homebrew store. Decent selection of beers, many from Iowa, some hard to find.

web site says 600 lucky have 100. staff got upset when pointed out most of their IPA’s were 2 or more months old. do yourself a favor drive to ames go to cyclone liquor they really do have 500 beers friendly staff and in date selections. this place is a joke

Visited just after lunch on a Sunday. Easy enough to find in a strip mall not too far from I-80 on the West side of town. Setup is a home brew store that also has 4 or so racks of beers and a cooler in back. Entire selection is available as singles, and the prices were good. Selection of Iowa beers is right up front, which was nice. Major downside to this place is that the vast majority of craft beer is sitting warm on the shelves. Service was friendly, and knowledgeable. Decent spot to grab some Iowa beers.

Stopped quick. Grabbed a couple bottles of good stuff. One friendly worker and one not so friendly. Nice homebrew supplies which I wish I had more time to browse. Moderate selection. Some good stuff though. Individual bottles are nice.

Lots of beers but a pretty poor selection, lots of dusty bottles that shouldnt be dusty. Pricing was very fair for singles, service was poor. Looked to have a lot of homebrew supplies.

Nice beer store! Only beer and home brewing available. They took the time to show me all the Iowa beers they stocked. Prices were good. Not a huge selection, but decent. I believe that everything they stock can be bought as a single. Easy to find. Will stop by again.

Great store. A go to when I’m in Des Moines. Great selection, solid staff and generally a fun place to be. I love the homebrew store/beer store combo. Stop here if you are in the area
