I have wanted to visit this place since I moved to Kansas about 5 years ago and finally got a chance (it’s 3.5 hours away). Place is in the middle of nowhere - population of town is 28. But that is the charm of the place. An original place just brewing beer because they want to and can. As is the whole idea of the place. No real signage but its the only place in town that isnt a grain elevator or private home. Inside is a half DIY job combined with kitsch on the wall and old beer signs. The small brewing set up is at the far end of the place with a pool table at the other end. 7 beers on tap (a great treat), some macro bottles, and that is the end of the beer selection. Food selection is perfectly rural with only deep fried appetizers. Otherwise burgers, grilled cheese, fish sandwich and that type of food. Prices are low 50 cents for samples, 2.75 for a pint and 4 bucks for a burger. Around 4pm the locals rolled in. Loved the authentic, real experience as the husband and wife duo run the place. Beer: ranged from below average to above average. The IPA was good but a few beers were butter. Come here for the beer but enjoy the rural. Nothing like any other place I have ever been to.

If there’s any other place like this, I sure haven’t heard of it, much less been to it. In a tiny, tiny town in the middle of the endless farm grids of central Kansas (seriously, check out the map on satellite) you find a bare-bones, grill-and-deep-fry "lunch diner" that brews a good handful of above average beers, even a couple excellent offerings. No a/c on a 103 degree summer day, though the heat hadn’t fully seeped into the interior by mid-afternoon. Still though my seat was not dry when I left it. Only had the gizzards for funsies, my first (and likely last) experience with the beasts since even though they were deep fried, the suckers remained unbelievably tough and chewy. Really not the point though. So far removed from every single other brewpub I’ve been to in nature and atmosphere, I believe it’s a must stop as a beer-culture destination, and a phenomenal option to have if for whatever reason you find yourself in the middle of nowhere.

An interesting brewpub in the middle of nowhere, Kansas. After driving past many corn/wheat fields, along a dirt road, we finally ended up at this place which looks like a small diner/local watering hole. Inside is set up very much like a diner. There is a small bar, but no one was sitting there. There were 6-7 beers on tap (very cheap too - $2.50 a pint I believe, which was also the same cost as a bottle of Bud, although you could get Keystone and High Life for 25 cents cheaper). The beers were either really good (IPA, porter) or not so good, but overall I was very impressed with the quality of the beer given the location. We only ordered the gizzards (just for fun - I didn’t really like them). A very interesting atmosphere - it was mostly a place for locals to stop by - a bunch of farmers in dirty clothes stopped by after a day in the fields, also there were a couple of families. I can’t say I’ll stop by again as it is way out of the way of anything, but if you do happen to be somewhat close, it’s worth a visit!

Stopped by trying to complete all the brewpubs in Kansas. Nice down to earth establishment. Arrived around noon and the locals were all stopping by. Some brought growlers to fill. Eight beers on tap. Not much time to visit but seemed like everyone was enjoying themselves. Was pleasantly surprised. Would stop by again. Samples were 50 cents.

Went to Mo’s as part of a camping trip a week ago. Took us forever to get there, as it’s in tiny Beaver, Kansas. Walking in, it’s like the small-town restaurant from my childhood, right down to the old time decor. I had everything that Mo had to offer - and everything exceeded expectations, particularly the seasonal IPA offering. Dinner is your typical short-order cook stuff. I had a very nicely done hamburger along with some corn fritters that were very good. Its a greasy spoon with a microbrew inside. Everything on the menu is cheap - super cheap. Loved it, and I’ll be going back the next time I’m in central Kansas.

Visited with Gregis in June of 2008. Apologies for the late posting. First off, this place is a long ways from anywhere. That is what drew Greg and I to the place initially, what exactly was this place up to in the middle of nowhere? We arrived on a beautifully sunny Saturday around 11:30am, and spent close to 4 hours at the BrewPub. This is a two person operation, with the brewer working the grill during business hours, and his wife working the front of the house. When we visited, there were approximately 4 groups having lunch. Service was great, and the brewer spent quite a bit of time talking shop with us, and walking us through the small brew operations he has set up. The food was normal pub grub, but well prepared and tasty. The beers were all above average, and shared a mineral (gypsum) component from the local water source.
