OVERVIEW: The BBC Tap room is decorated with beer memorabilia from KY brewers past and present (bottles, coasters, posters, etc.) and also has some wood surfaces (bars, tables, etc.) covered with old beer labels, coasters, stickers and the like. Otherwise, it feels like a bare-bones brewery taproom: two TVs showing whatever sports program happens to be on, the bartender talking it up with the patrons he seems to know like family, no food except for a small fridge that occasionally holds beer cheese. It’s not the most beautiful space, but it’s still welcoming to the uninitiated. As you’d expect, all the beer here is BBC (during my visit) and typically served in pint glasses, but you can buy half measures as well. The bartender was quite friendly (if not a little crude at times) and seemed to be the only employee present. Still, he tended well the handful of patrons on hand. Full pours were $3-4, and half pints were $2 a piece. PROS: Not very crowded and has a relaxed feel; solid range of house beers; very good beer prices. CONS: Would have liked to see a more extended selection; a limited selection of food would be nice. OVERALL: A nice place to come sit and have a beer with the guys. Ample, free street parking in the area; probably a little easier to park when the Bats aren’t playing.

Visited before dinner on a Wednesday. Located in an Industrial area close to the Market area and Louisville Beer Store. Seating is tables spread throughout a smaller room along with 10 seats at the bar. Featured 6 BBC beers draft. Crowd was happy and friendly, and were enjoying the trivia and $6.50 pitcher special. There were a couple of dart boards on the far wall. Service was solid, Pale Ale I had was fine. This place reminds me of the Breckenridge Brewery taproom on Kalamath in Denver.

70 = ★★½ (Locals should check it out, visitors with extended time)

I only use the total score, not the component parts.

Visited this location. Nice service for true beer snob. Took back to see barrels and hand out pint glass. Several beers. Noisy but interesting ky decoration related to beer

Small-ish venue in an older neighborhood. Has a ’locals’ feel to it. Beer selection was limited, but the beers were decent. Didn’t try the food, nor was any served during our visit.

A well laid out bar space and a fun place to drink. The selection of their beers is pretty good with a lot of bourbon barrel aged stuff on tap (be sure to ask - they don’t always post on the board the bba selections) and more offerings in bottles. The food is generally really good and the service is decent. Worth a visit.

A small brewpub in downtown Louisville (although not the best part of downtown). They only had 3 beers on tap when I was there (pale ale, brown ale, and something else, can’t remember), which was a little disappointing, consider they make so many beers (and the pale and brown are regulars anyway). Oh well. I don’t think they had food. Small old-school TVs on the walls with sports on. As mentioned, lots of beer memorabilia around the place. If I recall, there is also an area with couches next to the bar. Good pricing ($3/pint I think). Not a bad stop, but bear in mind that the selection is quite limited.

This is a solid place to go for a taste of what BBC offers. Friendly and fast service and a good atmosphere. One of my favorite things about this place is on Tuesday evenings you can get a growler filled here with any BBC beer they have available for $5.75 and yes that does include the Jefferson’s Reserve Bourbon Barrel Stout that is around $12 normally for a 4 pack. So the value here is huge. Great beer destination.

Downstairs from Main Street. Nice decor, but a slightly sour smell. Good prompt service and nice conversation about the style and quality of their brews. I had the sampler and it was reasonably priced.

BBC’s great beer with no frills - they don’t serve food but you can order takeout/ delivery. This place has good beer, good service, good people, nice place - lots of fun. always worth a visit. Beer geeks would enjoy this place even though selection is BBC-only.

The tap room at the BBC brewery is on the corner with street parking in the front and side. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The inside is small with the bar on back wall, beer memorabilia lines the walls of the tap room. The beer selection is good. Specials pint prices every day. Enjoyed the visit and will return.
