Lovely old brick building located between Fore and commercial streets. Cozy and intimate which means darkly lit so induced blindness becomes a form of intense flirting as you struggle to see something 5 feet in front of your face. The food was fantastic, literally to die for which twinned with kind and attentive service is the main reason to go. They only have 5-6 taps of local easy to find things like Oxbow or Allagash and about 30 bottles of local and broadly distributed Belgian beers. Go for the food and the atmosphere and not to add a bunch of beerticks.

Always friendly service. Food is always excellent. Yes, a bit more upscale and yes, one of those places I clean up for. Yes, not one of the cheaper places, but where else can one get Allagash and Oxbow on tap. I go back whenever I’m in this part of Maine and have the money for it.

This place was our last minute choice, we wanted something different. Well it was, to our surprise they had a great choice of imported beers and Allagash. The food was super, I had scallops, and the preparation was just no.1. As for the service friendly, helpfull and very present. This place is a most go.

Last night in Portland and my mom and I whated to go to a place that dose not specialize in beer. It’s not far from Gritty’s lower bar on Wharf St. One’s in I notice at the right end of the bar, the wine cellar with 12 bottles of beer (a magnum size bottle from Val-Dieu and a biger one from St-Feuillien). O.K. maybe they do have some good beers, so I look at the menu, about 30 beers (note: the website don’t show that much), wow, most from Belgium (like St. Bernardus Abt 12 Special Edition) with some Allagash. The food is great, I hade a fine crust prociuto pizza, delicius!
