Sea Dog Brewing Co. - Topsham

The tables on the covered deck here overlook the Frank J Woods Bridge as it disintegrates and crumbles into the Androscoggin River. Of course, this being America, they don't repair it, they just reduce the weight limit for vehicles. So drive a small car when you come here. The brewery is in a historic building, looks like an old mill, but they only hint of its prior uses is a handful of pictures on the walls. The restaurant tables overlook the river, but the central U-shaped bar doesn't look over anything except the tap handles. Eight beers or so on tap, flights are six or eight. Beers are very conservative and safe. The food was decent enough pub food. Nice location with average brews and average food.

Perched over a river in an old mill the brewpub has that well worn feeling showing glimpses of its’ spot of industrial history. A very comfortable place with great views, our server was very attentive and quite well informed. The food was quite good, very fresh and enjoyable. The beers..... their bottled offerings have not been impressive (though I don’t live near Maine so the freshness may suffer) over the years, I found several of the sampler I had quite good including a Maple brew which was very limited production. Their stout is just begging to be aged in a whiskey barrel as it was quite good on its’ own but aging creates legends. All in all a very positive experience and a brewpub to which I’d gladly return.

A beautiful location with a full bar featuring all of Sea Dogs brews. The food was very good. Service was also good. The only drawback was price. It is somewhat expensive for what they are serving.

This is a very cool brewpub located in an old mill. The bar area is pretty big, and there is an outside deck, which we didn’t sit on cause it was raining. Too bad the overall quality of Sea Dog’s beer isn’t that good. Seems to ne a popular spot with tourists in the summer.

I really liked the ambiance of this place. It’s on the river, I mean right on the river. Sit outside with a pint and enjoy the view.

Spring, Summer & Fall sit out on the deck and enjoy the water views with a cold brew.

Nice brewpub in a great location. Service is great, food is ok. This is a now a Shipyard brewery operation. Worth a visit.

This is a really nice brewery in a great location on the river. It is really warm and cozy in the winter while still be airy in the summer time. Definitely a place to become a mug club member and claim a stool.

SeaDog @ Topsham is a beautiful location, with one hell of a view. I don’t know what all to say about this brewpub, other than the beer was topnotch; the food was exactly what I wanted, the staff was on top of it all. This place comes highly recommended… and make certain that you sample the Hazelnut Porter! There is also a room with a pool table and some arcade games for the kids… if you have any… or for you.
