Interesting setup with a full bar on one side and a nice restaurant on the other. Plenty of shaded outdoor seating as well. The place was busy but our server was still on top of things. About 10 of their own beers on tap, nothing else, only a few styles represented. The beer was very safe, I could tel the clientele they are trying to attract. The food was very good; I recommend the wings. Prices were about standard - not sky high, not a great deal. I will be back if I’m having dinner, but I wouldn’t come here just for the beer.

July 2007 - In a unappealing store-front setting, my overall feel for ABC was "standard." They had about 8 "standard" beers plus 2 seasonals but were out of their IPA. The beers I tried were good. The menu was fairly standard pub fare (my burger was delicious), but there a couple things on the menu that they didn’t have, either. Our service was efficient if a bit snooty (we got an eye roll when we joked about all the stuff on their menu they didn’t have). In the end, I’ll go back here if I have the chance and would generally recommend it. <<update as Kirkwood Station. Meh. Standard bland brewpub. Uninteresting. Old words still apply to new name. >>

Located in the heart of Kirkwood. It has a relaxing and casual atmosphere. Service was very good and friendly. They had 9 beers on tap, during our visit. There is also a limited selection of bottles, if you crave a macro. Their menu is fairly extensive and quite good. Worth checking out if you are in the area.

Nothing to say that hasn’t already been said in previous reviews. The location is great. The food is nearly great. The service is great. The atmosphere is great. The beer sucks. I tried at least ten from their summer line-up and, save one, all were substandard. ’nuff said.

An older, dimly lit brewpub with a bar area in one room and seating in another. Bartender was nice if not particularly knowledgeable about the beer. A sampler of all the beers was available which was nice. Did not try the food on my visit. A pretty standard brewpub.

A really large place with a huge patio and bar area. Service was slow and not really beer centric. Selection was their own taps and some micros. They did do a tasting flight. Food was horrible, with small portions, typical crappy local snacks and high prices to boot. Beer surprisingly wasn’t bad. Nothing stood out, but the seasonals were tasty. Not worth the special trip, but a few good ticks if you are in the area.

Brewpub. Service was slow and not busy. Beers were hit and miss. Food was bad but typical of St. Louis with that awful cheese sauce.

Food was good. Beer was so-so. For a beer town like St. Louis, this isn’t the place to go for beer. But if you are in Kirkwood, it is worth a stop. And they have quite a few beers usually.
