84 Took my annual summer Sunday afternoon drive to the Ship Inn but took a fortunate detour to the Milford Oyster House this time,. I really like this place. Whereas The Ship is a brewpub with primarily English style beers...which although good are not my style...the Oyster House features 8 micro taps...and since the owner likes IPA’s...3-4 are guaranteed to be hoppy! While there I enjoyed some Ithaca Flower Power, some Sixpoint Bengali Tiger, and some Victory Hop Devil. Now about those oysters...they are amazing...fresh...and a great variety. We sampled 5 different types and they were all great. Also had some great gazpacho, salad, and homemade bread. Claire behind the bar was very helpful and enjoyable. There is a great dining area if you don’t want to sit at the bar. All in all...a very nice place and an improvement beer-wise for me in the Milford area. |
78 Made reservations for supper here for Mother’s Day 2012 - and expected a quality seafood experience. The seafood was indeed amazing, albeit rather expensive. Also stellar was the tap list! Bear Republic Racer 5, Ithaca Flower Power, Troeggs Nugget Nectar, Left Hand Nitro Milk Stout, Wiestephaner Octoberfest, Stoudts Lady Red, Goose Island Honkers Ale, Old Speckled Hen, and others. Nice clean lines, nicely poured. Very impressive for a place that doesn’t advertise its taps! However, the map doesn’t come up right here on RateBeer...Milford is in western NJ. |
