Needed a respite from Times Square. Maybe 15 taps, nothing crazy interesting, but some fine regional/national brands. Food was just ok. Service was fine. Not a destination, but if you need to get away from the Elmos and M&M Stores, it works.

Like the other location its partly underground and they have a lot of taps, many of which are just OK. This one has some taps and fake barrel ends on the wall in the entryway. They use the same barrel end setups for the tap towers. Of the two dozen taps there are a couple of good ones like Founders, Speakeasy, and Weihenstephaner, and the rest a bit less interesting. They do flights of four and according to the menu they sell growlers. The service is friendly and so was the clientele but this isn’t really much of a beer bar considering just how many taps they have.

Similar to it’s 51st St sister. Small bar with around 15 taps. Nothing too interesting just typically NY and east coast stalwarts. Service at the bar has always been fine. I’ve tended to pop here for an early evening or late night drink when stopping off Times Sq. Not a destination venue but probably worth popping in for some new rates if you’re not from the US and are passing. Be warned pints are just 14oz here.

Average bar with a mix of macro’s and craft’s. Printed beermenu is out of date so a lot of discrepancies with the actual selection. Service was nice.

A rather boring beer bar with mondaine selection. They do have agood deal on burgers with a pint (10$). Serive was friendly and prompt. Only if your in the area.

Restaurant row location. Went here with my Dad. Neither of us really cared for it. Not really a beer bar.. more like neglected generic bar with a above average beer selection of everything you’ve tried or had no desire to. Pub food was not good either.

Stopped by on a weekday afternoon, so it was quiet. This is an attractive pub with a solid selection. I counted around 60 bottles and 25 taps. A little bit unimpressive for the name, but it is still a nice spot. The Irish waitress treated us to some fresh-from-the-kitchen potato chips to enjoy with the beer, which was fresh and tasty. They show some UK football on their television sets, which is a plus in my book. I didn’t try the food, and the prices are decent for the area.

Lame, formulaic, sterile. And the upstairs smelled. Pretty lame for NYC. Selection was nothing special: a German, a UK selection, Anchor Steam. Come on guys! Try a little harder. At least pretend to be into beer! Mark my words, this place sucks so bad compared to Stout NYC and the other almost-as-lame bars in Midtown that House of Brews will go under in the next few years. It’s that lame.

Now my review is similare but I have not been to this location quite as much. Still the food is basic pub type food with some entres to choose from. They do have a descent bottle list and some good taps same as other location but nothing very unusual, no new releases and nothing rare. The prices are also a bit inflated just like the other location. I mean, you know its a chain. Nothing unique between the two.

Tiny and 3 of the beers on my menu were out of stock, and most of the rest of the menu I could find at home (Albany) so it was a bit of a let down. Make sure you ask for the big menu it has some bigger, more expensive bottles (again nothing special) and when I was there there were 6 choices and 4 were barleywines... so... yea.... go to Stout or Copperfields...
