Decent spot in NoDa. We stopped in for calorie fuel and the place felt a bit off its game. At least 4 listed taps had kicked, and a lot of what remained was pretty standard stuff. Not their fault that they’d had a busy weekend, but it certainly lessened the appeal for us. Pie was decent and the place was relaxed and friendly. Would go back and hope to find them a bit more on point.

Visited on a Saturday night. Located in what looks like a large, old house at a busy corner of the NoDa area. Around 45 beers on tap. Pretty good selection. Pizza reminded me a little of California Pizza Kitchen - small, individualized pizzas with unique combinations. Pretty decent place, worth checking out, but there’s a number of places I would go to before here.

Located in what everyone says used to be a Mellow Mushroom but it really looks and feels like someone’s house. It takes a while to get into the place past the large staircase and all the people who seem to park themselves on it. The bar was fairly large and spacious. The bartender I had was particularly attentive and forgot what I asked for several times. The tap list a has a lot of locals which is usually enticing except that most of the beers brewed in Charlotte tend to disappoint. Otherwise the taplist perfunctory at best. The pizza was doughy but not particularly flavorful. I’ve been wanting to come here for a while based on all of the positive reviews but I thought it was kind of a disappointing.

Old Mellow Mushroom location. Service was good, friendly. Tap list was pretty good, around 30 or so I think. Lots of locals of course. Food is pretty expensive; for the wife and I who had 2 small pizzas and 1 beer each with tip it was $45.00. Overpriced but this is because the location. Hippie outside on the street corner was not too impressive either.

Nice place. Food was quite good, and beers were even better. Service was friendly and efficient. Really enjoyed my sampler here.

Great place. Go if in the Charlotte area. Food is ok, but great selection.

This was my top beer place we visited in Charlotte. They had a really nice tap selection. They do flights of anything on tap. They probably had 5-10 local beers available, and a nice selection of micros from around the country/world. The place was fairly empty, and it was a little rainy out, but the porch seemed like a wonderful place to enjoy a beer on a nice afternoon. We sat at the bar, and the bartender was extremely friendly and fairly knowledgeable too. We didn’t try the food, so I cannot comment there. Overall, I had very few complaints, and if I’m back in Charlotte anytime soon, I’ll come back for sure. Also, Growlers is about 20 feet down the street, so you might as well visit both if your gonna visit one.

A restaurant foremost, a spacious sprawling one that doesn’t feel like a pizza joint really. It’s vaguely italian but more southern. The pizza I had (Demeter) was really good and the wings were awesome, all really well priced. So was the beer. The tap selection entirely American and mostly southern or midwestern. Local pints particularly of NoDa abound. Excellent service cemented this as my best Charlotte beer experience so far.

Great bar in NoDa. I was here on a crowded Friday night as well as a sleepy Saturday morning. It is a smallish bar located in an old house with outdoor seating on a porch. The bar itself is somewhat small and there are tables scattered throughout. The beer list is phenomenal (at least for the area) - tons of taps. About half the taps are North Carolina beers (and the most extensive list of NC beers I’ve seen, including smaller lesser known places - there is Foothills, Greenman, NoDa, Nantahala, Olde Hickory, Big Boss, Four Friends, Red Oak, OMB, LoneRider, Catawba, Duck Rabbit). Even the out-of-state list was pretty good - nothing crazy, but just solid beers (Chouffe, Sierra Nevada, Terrapin, Bells, Green Flash, etc). Prices varied from $5.00-7.50 depending on the beer, with $3 specials each week. Half pints also available. The only food I tried was the homemade potato chips which were pretty good. Overall, the tap list is hard to beat elsewhere in the city, so this place is highly recommended.
