I stopped in on a Friday evening and there were a nice mix of locals already hanging out when I got there. They have someone’s beer bottle collection on display and foosball game, which I always like to see. I had a few of the beers which were all fine. They had a decent variety of styles available. Worth a stop along your Cincinnati area brewery tour.

We visited DogBerry on a Saturday afternoon when they opened. The hours are short, currently two days a week (Friday and Saturday) for 4-5 hours each day. The brewing system is very, very small but allows for a lot of small batches. So they have 10 things on tap at any given time. Pours are available in 5 oz, half pints, pints, and growlers. Prices are slightly high, particularly for growlers, but not out of line. The service is great, really enthusiastic and knowledgable about their own stuff. The space itself is pretty plain, an open tap room with a small bar, white drywall, concrete floor - but they make the most of it, lining one wall with cases displaying bottles from other breweries. There are 1-2 TVs for sports and they might add more for Sunday football (which would also change the hours). The beer itself is okay; in the flight I had, they ranged from below average to above average within their styles. I liked the place and its modest scope and down-to-earth feel, I just won’t be a regular because of how far north it is from the city, and I’m not always up in this area when they’re open.

Stand-alone building on the Cincy-Dayton Rd., a bar with about 10 seats, several picnic tables, and old school desks. It serves the purpose, but doesn’t encourage interaction. The beers are good to excellent, the barmen also brew, and are happy to talk shop, and, overall, a friendly environment. Beers are available in 5 oz. flights at $2 per.

Decent little place that is actually the closest local brewery to my house. The negative is that they have crazy hours. Only Saturday and Sunday from 2-5 or until they run out of beer. some days they have been closed around 4 pm. Decent selection of stuff, but very small batches and they allow growler fills on everything so it goes quickly. The best beer I’ve had from them was a DIPA.

Visited this place on their second official day of business, on a Friday at around 4:30pm. Writing this now from the Lebanese Gyro place a short bit down the street (recommended btw). The place was packed. Small dedicated parking lot, but apparently people were parking at neighboring businesses, and the neighboring business were not too happy (several announcements were made while I was there regarding this). The place was packed while I was there, but I was lucky to find a seat at the bar on my own pretty quickly. 5oz samples were $2 apiece, I got all 8 available (half pints also available. Pints were $6-7, even for the strong stuff)... They launched with an impressive 11 beers on tap, 3 of which were already out by the time I got there. This place is really a nano brewery... I saw some of their equipment in the back, very small plastic tanks, but I applaud the variety. Unfortunately a lot of their beer seemed kind of unnessarily sweet and some of it underattenuated, they could use a little dialing in. Bartenders serving were very nice, despite being clearly very busy. Free bottles of water were available. An interesting place overall... Interesting variety, some strange beers, but there was a lot to choose from which I respect. I’ll be back to try whatever new they have.. Wasn’t too impressed with the quality of the initial batches, but hopefully they improve... I think they will. 3/8/8/n/6/12 Edit: Visited again in March. They definitely got better. Now offer free snacks (chips) too. Much more comfortable, now that the hype has died down somewhat. Great on a nice day with the breeze flowing in from the windows.
