64 Cider bar with a focus on their own cider plus a guest and a beer line (a brut IPA) plus a full range of Cider Riot bottles and cans in a fridge to take out. Expected a punky vibe about the place, given its branding & vocal anti-fascist stance (though surely we're all inherently anti-fascist?), and it does have a kind of punk community centre feel, with table football and small library of books (though a lot of these are about cider) lots of Irish football scarves and other Irish references dotted about. Seems to attract a niche alternative crowd here. We got a flight of samples with a good variety of styles, barrel aging etc.. I took a photo of the board but was told in no uncertain terms that photography was strictly not allowed, with no explanation. Had a look at the bottles, but unfortunately some of the more interesting tannic single varietals were just way over-priced, hitting the $26 mark for a 6 year old 500ml. The atmosphere's a little cold, but I'd call in again. |
