I have been here quite a few times as I’m from about 5 mins from this place. Decent beers, very local crowd including clan bikers on some nights so beware. This is a nice stop for price but Union Jacks has a much larger selection.

I finally broke away from Union Jack’s for one evening to visit this establishment. Quite the ecletic mix of patrons -- bikers and steel mill workers at the bar, and quiet, children-laden families in the dining rooms. The beer selection is pretty solid. Certainly one of the best in Berks County. Three Floyds, Bells, Yards, Lancaster, and Rogue were some of the represented labels. Not much of anything in the Belgian department however. The tap beers were fairly pedestrian save, Dead Guy. However, the reason to come here is the INSANELY CHEAP prices. A bomber of Shakespeare Stout for $6.50! Most 12 oz bottles were less than $4.50. After spending piles of money drinking in Philadelphia all of last year, I was quite blown away. The food selection was pretty down-home. The burger list was extensive, topping 45 different varieties. I will most certainly go back here on my way down to West Chester or Philly.

Rerate 08/17/05. Heard about this place from a friend, and I enjoyed it greatly. Very good beer selection, and the food is outstanding. We had good service, and they had a handful of bottled beers that I had not tried before. It is a historic hotel, and the bar area had its share of ham and eggers, but the dining area was quaint and pleasant.

Service can be anywhere from very attentive and quick to downright slow and ignoring. I had to wait almost two hours one time for a burger, but the beer selection made up for that. This is just a small cozy restaurant with a huge selection of beers. Kind of like a biker/dive bar in a way, but very homey type of atmosphere. Burgers are outstanding. There's eight to ten pages on the menu of just burgers.
