I used to like to make the trip out to these guys a couple of times per year. Beautiful atmosphere for a chain pub. The food was excellent - especially the steaks. Beer was ok but really not their strength though selection was decent. The staff were fairly well informed about the product and service was always good. I miss them.

Visited with dpjuart & Naka during our post-Xmas tour. Stopped in on the way down from Slippery Rock to have some samples at the bar. Quite empty at 2pm on a Thursday. Service was friendly and cooperative. Beers were pretty good. Food looked good.

Nice place just off the main drag in Cranberry. A must for people who like steaks and good beer. Usually has somewhere around 8 - 10 beers made in house on tap. Can buy your steaks and grill them yourself on these big grill pits they have. Sells samplers for their beers so you can try them all. A nice place.

A very nice and upscale brewpub. Nice long bar with plenty of seating and the brewing area behind open glass. I got a tour of the back by the manager who was very nice and obliging despite the busy night (Penguins final game with Ottawa). First waitress seemed annoyed with serving us...second was great. Very nice quiet place to enjoy a beer.

Great place to sit back and unwind. Their pub area has the feel of an actual Irish pub. Not a bad selection of beers. Some a bit sub par, but overall, pretty decent. The swchartz is a must. As for the food, I really dont’ have anything bad to say about that. Sat down with the brewmaster a few times. Pretty nice guy with a good knowledge. Not quite sure why this place is supposedly going out of business. I have no complaints.

This is a take off of the original H&H. They always have at least ten different H&H beers on tap, can’t get these anyplace else. They have a special growler filling night on Thursdays. My waitress was very friendly and obliging. You can taste any of the H&H specialty taps for only $1 each (4-5 oz glass). They have a personal flip chart they give you to look at the qualities of any beer on tap. They brew the beer on site and it is pretty good. This was one of more enjoyable beer tasting episodes. If you are into grilling meat, you can cook your own steak on their massive grill. In general, just a really cool place for a one time beer tasting experience. Have not had any food here yet.

I’ve been wanting to try this and had some biz in the area last night. Since this place is about an hour away, I’m glad I didn’t make a special trip. I tasted a few of their beers and with the exception of the IPA they were very bland. I guess you get what you pay for...By the looks of this restaurant I expected to pay $4 to $5 a glass. The glasses were large, I’ll estimate 14 to 16 ouces, and they were only 2 bucks! When I first sat at the bar the bartender said todays beer special was their brown ale for 50 cents!!! If you’re looking for cheap beer this is the place but if you’re looking for good beer try somewhere else.

Several minutes north of Pittsburgh. Part of a mall of restaurants based on different themes. The owner is the original brewmaster here. The staff are merely employees and are like any other restaurant. Roomy, with a dark area before the bar, pleasant enough. Only serve their beer, which is fresh, and very much on the malty side. Recently they have picked up on the hoppy trends, and offer an ESB whose sales have been significant. German beer influence, but no pilsners.Nice place for the general public, but I think Penn BRewery a bit further down is edgier and has the edge.

Hey, a chain brewpub... Nice pub atmosphere, and the pasta was excellent, but the beers were merely average. The IPA was the best offering, it was quite refreshing with a nice hop character, not something I’d expect from a chain. Worth a stop if you’re in the area.
