Café Het Uurwerk

It was my last stop on a Saturday evening. Brown bar but then upgraded in a way. I was the only customer and it wasn’t that late. Beer selection was disappointing, only belgian beers and the barman was proud to say that they carry all the trappist beers (except the american and italian as I mentioned) which you can actually get at the supermarket. No Westvletteren either by the way, so not even all the belgian trappists. To my question why don’t they expand their selection with more styles, he said no one drinks that stuff. Tap list wasn’t impressive either. Nothing to keep you returning here as far as beer is concerned.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff, decent (just not very numerous) selection and affordable prices. Haven’t tried the food.

Decent, well stocked pub opposite the town hall in Hengelo. Friendly service, fairly knowledgable. Occasionally Westvleteren available. Sometimes rare beers from tap. Bar snacks. Avoid when the city council has its meeting.
