66 Good tap selection, but not exceptional for the area. Some random Cambridge Brewing Co beers can be found, but you might as well just go there. Food is fine but about the same as any other midrange restaurant in the city. Service has always been fine but nothing special. The club downstairs is cool for a music venue that has good beer. Similar overall to Cheistopher’s just up the street, but I prefer Christopher’s. |
72 Cambridge Common has a great beer list - about 14 regulars and around the same number of daily rotating taps. The turnover is quite fast. I’ve been there several times and lingered awhile so that the list had changed by the time I left. As a consequence the beer is fresh, and the prices are very reasonable too. The bar is in a low, modern building about half way between Harvard Square and Porter Square - so a bit of a trek but well worth the walk. It’s quite spacious inside, with a central bar and areas on either side for diners. There’s also a small patio at the front.

68 4 ounce taster glasses offered for all beers offered. prices reasonable for area. food is bar food and is okay. ambiance somewhat stale. lotta wood offered inside. outdoor seating on Mass ave out front. |
78 More student- and family-oriented restaurant than beer bar, the Cambridge Common is never-the-less a great destination in Harvard Square. Service is attentive, but nothing special. Our waiters have not seemed to have deep beer knowledge. Selection is very good with 30 taps with at least a handful of rarities. They tend to lead toward IPAs if that is your thing. Food is good - mostly get the burgers and have never been disappointed. Overall value is very good - beers are not too expensive, and they tend to pour the high abv beers in shakers which is nice. |
72 The ambiance is nothing special, service is only ok. But the beer selection is very solid with rotating seasonal taps, the food is pretty good, and the prices are outstanding. Great little place, and try the beer punch. |
86 I researched Boston bars before going there and I was not disappointed. Easily accesible on Transit, good selection of craft beer - and cask ales at least one night a week. Casual local pub atomosphere beats out many bars with greater selections. |
78 30+ beers on tap, options of getting a sampler set, correct beer glasses, not too many TVs, outdoor sitting, food is very nice for a pub, service - pleasant. Live music (and beer) downstairs as well. Had Allagash Confluence Ale |
80 A cozy and comfortable place that emphasizes tap beers - 31 of them to be exact, plus one cask. Reminds me of Baskin Robbins’ 31 flavors. Not many bottle beers, though - a more hefty bottle menu would surly do well here. Food was OK - I had a burger which was decent, but not great. Worth a stop if you’re in the area. |
78 The best beer bar I visited in the Boston area. Everywhere I went that was actually in Boston had only the standards on tap. Wish I could have stayed longer but was only there for lunch. Great service! |
50 arrive at a rainy tuesday afternoon and ordered a couple set of tasters option. the waitress is very friendly and helpful and the beers are generally good. so is the burger, and so is the appetizer. a good joint. |
