What better theme to a dive bar than a submarine :) Cool little local dive bar by the JR rails of Shimbashi, usually pretty crowded. Short but always interesting tap selection with decent rotation. Average prices considering no cover charge. Their snacks/tapas are pretty tasty too. Fun stop on a night out in the area.

Very small basement bar directly under the railway. Also has an upstairs bit which I was not allowed to visit. Has a nautical theme with ships memorabilia decorating the place. 4 guest tap ales and a few other not very interesting taps. Ridiculously expensive. Satisfactory service. Not a place to go out of your way for.

Probably the best service and knowledgable bartender I have met in Japan. His English was good too, so for us foreigners a big plus. Was very excited when we found out we were from out of town. Place is cozy with a neat nautical theme. Beer selection was pretty good.

Nice place. I quite like the nautical theme. Feels fun. Sure, the tap selection is not as big as other places, but I found a couple of things I wanted to drink here. Glasses are a weird size, so difficult to judge how good value it is. They felt a pretty decent size, but I can never be sure. Very friendly barman!

Gret decor - especially the doors! Not a great place to stand outside and drink, the trains are VERY loud and actually gave me a headache. Had to stop talking to friends as you couldn’t hear each other. Inside is nice though, crowded, but comfy. Decent selection on tap, some bottles and another feather in the cap of Tokyo’s great bar scene.

As others have mentioned, the place is tiny. As they have mentioned as well, at least one of the guys working there was super friendly and nice, and we chatted about beer and other things. Selection wasn’t quite as good as I had hoped. Food looked interesting. There was no option of drinking outside, as it was way too hot when I went. Nice vibe inside, though. I wasn’t resally impressed with the bottles. Average Belgian stuff mostly.

Small though snug bar. Also, the beer is always fresh. Friendly and knowledgeable bartenders. Must-visit.

A little small as mentioned before, but really nice and friendly place. The nautical theme is cool and the place is very clean. The bartender was very hospitable and I enjoyed my visit. The bottle list isn’t too extensive but since the Shiga Kogen Stout was on tap I didn’t really need to test my curiousity. Food was good and reasonably priced. Not too hard if you exit the right way from the station. Unfortunately I forget which exit that is, I’ll check next time I go.

Very small. You can’t even imagine until you go there, as even by Japanese standards this place is tiny. Best spot is outside under the tracks. If it is not crowded it is nice to stand at the bar and talk to the very friendly and knowledgeable bartenders. Very positive things about this bar is 1) beer is in top condition 2) prices, especially for bottles, are reasonable by Tokyo standards. 3) decent bottle selection. My only compliant is that sometimes the head on the beer is poured way too big. ONly a couple minutes walk from Nagano Sake Village, so worth checking out if you are in the area.

I have never been to a bar as nice and amicable as Dry Dock. The bartender was knowledgeable and SO friendly that I felt that I was a regular. The selection was quite wide for a beer bar and the food was delicious and quite a large portion for such a small bar. Correct glassware, lots of San Diego Micro-Brewed Beers (the bartender had just visited there) and jovial atmosphere. I only stayed for an hour but the bartender actually bought me the 4th round... it was my first time going there!!! Don’t miss this great little bar! It isn’t that hard to find if you use Google Maps w/ Street View First. Hopefully this tinyURL works: http://tinyurl.com/n7m4un
