Leuk restaurant in het centrum met goed eten en uitgebreide bierkaart. Bediening en service was OK.

Nice retaurant with very good food and a decent beer menu with the likes of Senne & De Ranke.

Visited in may 2011. More a restaurant than beer bar, but good selection of Belgian brews and in right glasses. Didn’t taste the food, but this was in a good place.

A rather nice restaurant with excellent food. The specials are posted on mirrors around the bare brick walls and there’s a wide choice of dishes on the main menu too. As well as the main dining room and bar there’s a smaller side area with gleaming copper between the beams plus another open plan room upstairs on a level with a frisky wooden horse which appears to be dancing in the air. We were there mainly to eat so I didn’t make extensive notes about the beer list but I seem to remember there was plenty to choose from – I had the locally produced Taras Boulba. The service was brisk and efficient. (Visited 3 October 2012).

We (Loz & I) re-visted here Friday 23rd March 2012 after a previous visit about 3-4 years prior to this. This is a lovely place to visit when the weather is warm as it was on a balmy summerlike day in March. The square and nearby church look lovely and there is a great bustling feel about this area, the St Cahtherines area iis also notable for not being very touristy. I have only briefly been inside so I cannot recall how many beers were on tap, however the beer list was really quite decent, ok so there were no real surprises but I was very happy with the choice. You are but a 1-2 minute walk away from Monk which is just around the corner and the Daringman is probably 2-3 minutes in the opposite direction both worth going to for differing reasons, beer choice good in the former, very localish feel and down to earth feeling with the latter. I understand form Jackie & Simon that the food in this place (Le Paon Royal) is also very good.
