No Longer In Business

Not sure if I’m remembering a different place than the rest of you but I thought this place was pretty nice. They had most of the Anchor lineup on tap and they had bottles of Old Foghorn in the fridge. Can’t beat swigging some barleywine while waiting for a flight. The one time I was here was while waiting for a delayed flight, so I had an Old Foghorn. After finishing that I found out that my flight was delayed another hour. Another hour another barleywine. After that I walked to the gate again to find out that I had to wait yet another hour...As Merle Haggard said: “I Think I’ll Just Stay Here and Drink”. Oh, and the bartender let me try a splash of a couple of the Anchor liquors. It was a comfortable flight.

Food is mediocre but the fresh porter ain’t.

(Visited 06/2013): The SFO Anchor pub is located in Terminal 3 near gate 70.

The interior features a rectangular bar on the left side with seating on 3 sides, and table seating on the right. White walls and tile floors, and large windows in the back looking out into the tarmac. TVs on the wall behind the bar, and a view of the taps.

The beer selection consists of a couple macros plus several Anchor staples like Liberty Ale, Steam, Porter and a seasonal.

Service is about what you would expect at an airport bar/restaurant.

I did not have any food on my visit.

Overall it is always nice to see a craft brewer represented in an airport. This place isn’t as good as most others but is nice enough to kill a little time before a flight.

A bit more open design than most airport bars, so much less cramped. Friendly service. Prices are shocking. No samplers. No prices listed on the menu. Food is tasty but extremely pricey, tiny portions. Do not lay over in SFO if you can avoid it.

Really good for an airport, but dissapointing for Anchor. The beer was really expensive and they only had 4 or 5 Anchors on tap...none of the good ones like Old Foghorn, etc. THe food was pretty good, overpriced. I had a pint of the Porter and the Liberty (the two best that they have there). Was shocked to discover that the rest of the taps were Bud/Bud Light (whyyyy????) Both the beers I had were exceptional. I will definately stop here again when I have a connection through SFO.

The four basic products are seved, fresh, from the brewery. Only 6 bottles topping up the lineup which surprisingly, are the macros: Stella, Bud, etc. Decent food.Packed, great location fo flight delays or waiting while th first rows board.

A little place in the airport, real bright and busy! The service is on the poor side, as they are under staffed, and trying to get everyone out to catch their flight. The selection is lame considering they don’t have all the Anchor offerings on tap, just 3 or 4. I’m guessing that’s due to the fact not all would sell, and Old Fog would surely get some folks kicked off their flight. The food sucked, the price was reasonable. Despite my negative view, I’d stop in again for a fresh Liberty or Porter.

Worth a stop if you have to wait for your flight. Air Canada always flies out of this terminal, and given that you have to arrive 2 hours before your flight, this is a good place to kill time. Nothing out of the ordinary, and selection is limited to Anchor brews, but they are all quality and all fresh. The only other selections are Bud and Miller products in bottles (now why would they go and do that?).

Inside security. Often crowded. Not open late. The airport scene knocks the ambiance down and the prices up, but for an airport this is amazing. Anchor Porter is rarely seen on draft around SF outside of the brewery for whatever reason, and it’s a real treat to find it here. You can enjoy it along with Liberty Ale, Steam beer, and etc.. Extras: they also serve Anchor’s boutique gin and whiskey in mixed drinks. That gin is simply amazing.
