68 Nice ambiance. Quite a big beer list but a bit standard. Some taps with new brews. |
38 Found the place a bit expensive. Massive almost too big in fact. Poor selection for ticks, expensive bottles, not much to recommend. |
70 Visited on a Saturday afternoon. Huge café/restaurant in what I think is a converted convent. Lots of wooden panels, even a pulpit where is what appears to be a dj-booth. I love the atmosphere, really cosy, and it breathes a bit of history as well. Lots of seatings, different rooms but all is visible from the outside, large secluded patio that will no doubt be filled when the weather is nice. Friendly service, decent but also boring beer list, geeks will find almost nothing interesting here. Prices are (very) high for beers, tried a local Bock beer that turned out to be €6,20. Didn’t try any food, so no comments there. Would love to return, but only for the atmosphere. |

76 Pleasant Belgian-style restaurant with a beautiful bar and decoration. Good beer selection although most choices are pretty standard. Tasty food, polite staff. Worth visiting. |
86 Great service and a nice beer list - not only with mainstream Belgian beers. I would recommand their own Tripel (from De Leckere Brewery), some other Utrecht beers and the Amsterdam beers (’t IJ). They also hold a tap with different new brews or specials. A big place, with fair prices. Not far from Bierwinkel - which was closed when I was there - and of course De Bonte Koe. |
72 Huge bar and restaurant in the city centre. Much like the one in Utrecht. Food is pretty good, staff is very friendly, know what they sell. Not much there for ratebeerians, but they do have the Leidsch AaiPieEej and you can tick the Olivier tripel from De Leckere, which is a decent tripel. And I had a great time in the garden behind the place. Think this place is better than Olivier in Utrecht. Because of the garden. |
68 A huge bar in the centre of Leiden with a nice outdoor terrace at the back for the summer time. They serve mainly mainstream Belgian beers both on tap and in bottles. Nothing too out of the ordinary. Service and food were great. I like the bar but the beer choice needs some work. Nice and easy to get to and the wifi was solid. |
68 Beautifully done up in wood, though it doesn’t feel so authentic. Good list of beers, better than your average cafe in Belgium, though nothing like a great beer bar. Service was like a college student who did not seem to know about beer. Decent. Not so special, but good enough for a couple. |
60 Nice enough place close to the bonte koe . Reasonable selection of belgianbottled beers. Guest tap beers. |
