BlackHaddock  (1056) The County Time Forgot, England | October 9, 2012| Updated February 3, 2015
I was privileged enough to be invited to the breweries 1st official tasting on 5th October 2012. The first that is since the move from ’The Dolphin’ pub to this new barn/shed by the side of the huge nurseries in Roden village. James and Jon (Head Brewer and Sales chap) met our mini-bus and offered us their two beers (later we were taken into the ’cold room’ to try an experimental brew too. Locally sourced Pork Pie was the food: went down very well with the brews. They talked us through their ideas, plans and history while we attacked their beers and pies: a most informative and enjoyable evening and one I hope to repeat over the years. This new brewery is about 5 miles from my house! The ambiance score is low because the venue is still a cold, almost featureless barn with just the one plastic chair to share and no table. I am sure they’ll upgrade the place once ’Brewery Trips’ become more regular. Toilet was OK.
