Visited at lunchtime on Monday 27/03/23. First review post lockdown so I've updated a few things. Firstly this venue was listed as 7 taps and 100 bottles. There are two places to eat and drink, one on the ground floor which is marketed more as a cafe/drinking set up, then a more restaurant driven space on the first floor. I had a quick glance upstairs .. I doubt there would have been 7 taps but didn't pay much attention. Downstairs there was one macro tap and a fridge with perhaps 15 or so bottles, other bottles outside the fridge area. There were a few bottles form Birrificio della Granda ... a new brewery for me and a competent APA. The place it typical Eataly set up ... smaller than the Florence one, a book shop with some artisanal food / drink products dotted about. Really little need to visit here in this era, one that has clearly declined in terms of its value to the typical Ratebeerian in the past few years. We just filled a 20 minute gap before lunch here.

Di fronte alla baladin. Decente scelta di bottiglie artigianali.

Good Italian craft beer, great food, all set in a book store with nice friendly ambiance. Gets quite busy. Worth a visit.

Big fancy and upscale Italian shop, a copycat of its US version. Books at every level with an emphasis on food, mostly from smaller productions. Beer wise is not the best option in Bologna. Tap beers only Germans with a Moretti. Place shine in its prices for Baladin which is not too hard to understand when we know how close the owners are to Baladin. At the time of writing this review, Open Baladin is actually supposed to open a location near Eataly. Prices for Baladin range in the 8€ which is almost 75% cheaper than anywhere else in Bologna. Other Italian beers include most of the big players like DelBorgo but no emphasis at all on promoting small craft beer production. Other beers include typical Belgians, some Americans and UK beers. All in all, this place has all the flair of big money but without the soul of a small pub or shop which are aplenty in Bologna. That beind said, not sure why it warrants a stop. About the only reason I could think of would be to buy Baladin.

Visited 11-NOV-2013. Had a nice lunch with ham and cheese. A Del Borgo beer to accompany. Not a lot of taps but the bottle selection is very nice. Mostly Del Borgo but also other Italien and Belgian brews. Prices a bit high but still OK compared to imported stuff in DK.

Inside a bookshop (at the top floor). Smooth efficient service from the staff, although all the diners will hinder service and even entrance at times - you must have a seat to be served. Good selection of quality beers including a nice selection of Italians. Quite pricey though as you are slap bang in the tourist area. Overall a good place to visit and has an interesting range of 75CL bottles.

For those that thought this was ’pricey’ you clearly never drink in London or Scandiniavia! The beer selection was remarkable for Italy with an extremely impressive range of Italian craft beers as well as a good few from the US and Europe. The food was very local and impressive. Clientelle all Italian on my visit so that says something. Even though it was enormously busy at Saturday lunchtime, the staff were extremely efficient and polite and got us seated remarkably quickly - exceptional.
