70 Cozy little corner bar near the Capital. No food, 6 drafts, late night discounts. Intimate fireplace and coffee-shop feel, good for groups or friends or solitary reading away from the college crowd. Friendly bartenders. Sports on the one television. |
68 Stopped by here after hitting Maduro and the Great Dane. The beer was definitely not up to the standards of the others, but it has a really nice atmosphere and unique quality. It was a warm evening and about 30% of the patrons were sitting outside on the patio. Triangular shaped building with arabesque arches above the windows on the exterior. The building itself is worth a stop if nothing else. |
62 kind of a hip/sophisticated bar on the square. Definitely a nice place to drink on the outside patio. No food. Staff ranges from friendly to douchey. Clientele ranges from friendly to douchey. Taps can be interesting if you are from out of town...besides that they try hard, but rarely have anything worth staying for considering maduro, great dane, and the local are within two blocks. Their bottle list used to be something worth going for. I can remember getting under-priced de dolle mad bitch over and over again...but those days are over. As far as value goes...their stuff is about as cheap as everywhere else. |
56 While often crowded and uber-fab in clientele, they pour a mean drink and you can sit outside in summertime. Servers are way cooler than you and let you know it. Worth going definitely if it is late and you are plowed and don’t care, or early if you just want to drink. |
