Nice quaint little place, wooden decoration, old school, nice place to drink/eat. Friendly service on my visit. Fairly standard but tasty German pub food. Beer menu not huge but...Eisbock on tap, awesome.

Awesome old building, great location, Eisbock on tap! This is THE stop in Frankfurt if you are OK with little variety but good beer and great surroundings.

Claims to be the oldest bar/restaurant in Frankfurt. Located just off the Römer, direction to the river main. Quite small inside, cozy, old atmosphere. Kulmbacher beers on tap including the Eisbock. Prices are higher considering the location. Worth if in Frankfurt and you wanna try the Kulmbacher beers.

Nice ambiance, cozy with a lot of wood. There were tables outside when we visited it (late September) but we sat inside. Kulmbacher beers, some on tap and some bottles. I found the food so and so for the price. Service was good. Cash only.

Situated in the popular Altstadt, opposite the Historisches Museum. Serves Kulmbacher beers including a very good Eisbock. Atmosphere is really good with plenty of on street seating, where you can soak up the atmosphere. Food I had was very good. The beer choice is a range from Kulmbacher. Service was very efficient if a little curt. Good visit overall.

Traditional German restaurant. I had both a great beer and a glass of the local apple wine. Food was decent. Had to pay cash though unless I bought for more than a set amount, which I did because I had food there as well. Waiter had to run to other place to use their card machine. :)

Genuine place in Frankfurt’s old town. Fairly limited selection but the beers are nice, typical and well made. Staff is friendly. Food is very good, again traditional German. The asparagus is fantastic!

Had lunch and a beer here during our limited time in Frankfurt. Very cool old building with lots of character and charm. Service was good enough, prompt but not very friendly. Nice selection of beer for a German place, a few different styles and even Eisbock on draft. Food was great traditional German fare and went perfectly with a large mug of beer. Cool place.

For the locals it is no reason to come here for the beer. But it is a fantastic location. A 500 year old building and the only one of its type in the city to survive WWII intact. Food is good and the family running the place is excellent. For vistors they do have one of Germany’s top 10 rated beers here on tap.

Went to Haus Wertheim in Feb.2012. Six beers from giant Kulmbacher (better than Binding!) including a Schwarzbier which I assume must be Monchshof (?) - any advice greatly received - and they had on tap Eisbock 9.2% and also almost jet black - at the same price! After eating there I wasn’t impressed to see a mouse run across the floor! But for boring Frankfurt this is about as good as it gets beer wise! Is expensive too. Went back in August 2012 (not to eat!) and still the 2 black beers on tap, even the Eisbock! This time the waiter moaned we were keeping the place open at 10pm!!
