78 Nice spot in Santa Cruz west of main part of two. Mm nice largely outdoor seating. Good food trucks, or if they’re gone then there’s a nice taqueria nearby. They also serve empanadas. Good people. And you can tick! They do small pours and flights. Love it. Beer is solid, lots of hazy IPAs |
88 Awesome, awesome place to visit. 16 fantastic mostly hoppy beers on tap. Next to the Santa Cruz Mountain Brewing and the elusive Private Press brewery, in beautiful Santa Cruz. Life is good. 5oz pours about $3.00 each. |
82 Have visited several times over the last few years. The tasting room itself is fairly small, but there's a decent amount of outdoor seating as well. Generally at least 12 house beers on, plus they'll have some guest taps that may be cider or wine. In general, I think they make good beer, but I'm not as high on their hoppy stuff as everyone else seems to be. Killer lagers, though. Flights are available, as are full pours and to go options (cans, growlers). Servers are good, but it can be a bit slow just due to their setup and customer indeciveness. Definitely a stop to make in Santa Cruz. |
78 A nice place to stop and check out what's currently on tap. You can also get cans and growlers to go. A decent amount of room to gather around outside, and since there's rarely bad weather, it's year round. |
90 Rating ambiance based on what I saw when I picked up my beer given COVID and fun stuff. Anyways, I'd had their hazy IPAs before and they're quite good (think Moonraker-level quality) but finally got some of their stouts taking a long-overdue road trip through Santa Cruz. Basically, awesome beer. They're going full Moonraker/Other Half in terms of how they're doing their stouts. So thick you can chew them, fresh ingredients - one of the best Northern California brewers out there right now. Dig the online ordering system too. A bit expensive but if you're willing to pay for quality, stop by. It's worth it. |
78 Parked at a market a couple blocks away and on the other side of Santa Cruz Mnt Brewery and a couple wineries. Expensive flight, solid if not spectacular beers, but maaaaybe the #2 game in town. |
82 Stopped in with Brian after a SARA visit. Was excited to check the place out, and it did not disappoint. Warehousey feel to it, street parking available, but pretty full. Loads of people there on a Friday afternoon. Inside space is pretty small, mostly devoted to the bar and a few tables. Larger amount of outside seating available when weather permits. They have a basic kitchen with a hot sandwich menu available; things like Cubans. Good taplist, about 50% Humble Sea and 50% local beers and ciders. No flights, but all area available as sample pours for about $3 each, which gets kind of pricey over time, but is in line with the area. I have been a fan of their beers since the start, and there were some winners here this time as well, although the stout was a bit below par. Keep an eye on these guys; they are doing their jobs well right now |
