Weinhaus Vogel

Visited during my Gamescom visit. Dark cafe, full with locals, service was good. Food was very good and prices were good to cheap.recommended.

Visited in search of the Wurzburger. Excellent traditional bar, full of character.

Me, dad & Barry visited here on Friday the 28th March 2014. The beer choice was Kolsch but there was the Wurzburger Hopfenblut a very decent Alt available. We had the Alt served in large ceramic jugs by a great looking barman with a top draw moustache. This is on a busy street in a very normal shopping area quite different to the designer places back in town. As you enter a partition divides the bar area which is on the left from the sitting/area off to the right, it is a long narrow pub looking very old with many original and historic features. I think if this was in the UK this would be a Grade 2 listed property for the amount of original features. I am quite surprised by some of the reviews on this place as I found it clean, tidy, friendly and a really great find, in fact a gem of a place in my opinion. We sat in the eating area with a wooden sort of sash partition offering us a view into the adjacent bar area where locals sat mainly on settles facing the bar. Lots of original glasswork and lots of of old photos of Cologne scattered around and about. This was a great find with a good beer on offer also.

close to my hotel so I had to visit. Nice enough place. More of a wine drinkers place of course. Nice enough but the beer halls have more atmosphere

Wurzburger Hopfenblut avaliable only here. A bit cheap and crappy looks and feel. The beer was good - and cheap.

Nice place with really affordable food, for some reason this seems to be the only place to get the hopfenblut. it was a decent brew, they did have a few beers on tap and it was a decent bar. The food was actaully quite nice

They have a beer here that seems to be unavailable everywhere else, Hopfenblut, and that’s probably the most interesting about the place. Still, it’s a cozy restaurant, but service were slow, at least when I visited. Food smelt good, but didn’t have any. Thx to Köelschtrinker for taking me here.
